Ashley Rossi of Arlington/Mansfield on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Ashley Rossi shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Ashley, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My kids, well my family in general. My husband is the absolute best we’ve been together six years and married for two- we have the most beautiful one year old daughter who is everything I could have wanted in a little girl and our oldest son who is starting college. We are proud and so excited to keep watching them flourish!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Ashley Rossi, I have been a Lash specialist for the last 10 years. I worked for my best friend in Dallas for about 2 1/2 years and then decided to open my own spot in Arlington Texas. One thing about my brand is I stick to what I know I’m good at I don’t try to be anything that I’m not. I also do what I love in my studio… If I don’t prefer a service, I don’t add it in even if people are talking about it or if I do add in, I try to make it my own. I am completing my college degree in October and I’m just working on being the best mother to my kids, wife, to my husband, and Friend to my clients!

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Losing my brother and my husbands recovery. It taught me that the time is now, it’s all we have so I need to be working to live life, see my kids, my parents, be with my husband instead of working myself to death to have “things”. Being present is the best gift you could give to anyone including your clients so it was definitely a change of worldviews for me!

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Forgive yourself for not making the decisions everyone thought you should… You’re gonna look back and realize that none of it was random.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Very real. I’m eccentric most entrepreneurs are. I’m very outspoken and have very strong opinions but I believe that the only way to combat the craziness we have going on in the world is to be as loving and authentic as possible. If I have to pretend to be something at home or work that I truly wasn’t I would be a wreck and nothing would work.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
My husband and I are on a mission to build generational wealth for our family. Part of that is dropping what people think of you, where you live, what car you drive, and in doing this we have realized that real wealth isn’t loud- it’s generous. It gives with no thought, it makes great decisions that are not based on impressing an outside audience but truly add to knowledge and growth in wealth- financially and in the foundational character and values in our family.
