We’re looking forward to introducing you to Avery Sennin. Check out our conversation below.
Avery, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Have you ever been glad you didn’t act fast?
Plenty of times. I like to give myself a second to think before I make a decision to make sure it’s not emotionally charged. Sometimes you barely have any time to think, you just have to act. Staying centered helps me access what’s really worth my energy.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Avery Sennin, and I’m a hip-hop artist from Lewisville, TX. I have been making music for a while now, and I have a lot in store to get to the next level. I have a new single titled “Coolin'” dropping Aug. 8th, and I have a lot of content on the way to establish my brand.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
When I was a kid I used to believe that you had to be certain someone to be successful, that you were just born “that guy”. I learned later in life that anyone can be great as long as you believe that you are great right now and put in the work to match that mindset. I’ve developed that mindset over time, and now I know 100% that I will do very well in life.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Once I realized that pain, as well as any emotion, is a catalyst an energy boost. I use my pain as fuel to turn up and become better.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
Someone I’ve always admired for their character is Denzel Washington. Despite how famous he is, he never let the fame define him. He’s always been solid throughout his career, and he seems like a good representation of how a man should be.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If immortality were real, what would you build?
If immortality were real, I would build a school that teaches any type of skill: rapping, fashion, engineering, medical, whatever, so that people can attend the school at any point of their life to learn something new.
