Cassie Cross of DFW on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Cassie Cross. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Cassie, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would hire me.
Because I’ve built my business with intention, quality, and care. I don’t just take pictures — I create an experience.

I know how to make clients feel comfortable, confident, and actually enjoy being in front of the camera. My editing is clean, polished, and consistent. My communication is clear, my booking process is structured, and my turnaround times are reliable.

I’ve also spent 5 years learning, growing, investing in my craft, and it shows in my posing, lighting, and ability to work with all body types. Every session I deliver is created with professionalism, passion, and purpose.

Most importantly:
I treat every client like their images matter — because they do.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Cassie, the photographer behind Cassie Denise Photography. I’ve been capturing portraits for the past five years, specializing in timeless, intimate, and confidence-building imagery. What makes my brand unique is my ability to create a space where people feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated — whether it’s a boudoir session, a portrait shoot, or a family moment.

Photography is more than a service for me; it’s a way of helping people rediscover themselves. I take pride in delivering high-quality, beautifully edited images while giving clients an experience that feels luxury, relaxed, and empowering.

Right now, I’m continuing to grow my boudoir and portrait work, elevating the client experience, and expanding my creative direction. My goal is simple: to craft images that people can feel — photos that bring out confidence, beauty, and authenticity in every person who steps in front of my camera.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that needed to play small.
The version of me that doubted my talent, questioned my worth, and worried about being “too much” or “not enough” has served its purpose. It kept me cautious, it kept me humble, but it no longer fits the path I’m walking.

I’m releasing the part of me that overthinks, that waits for the perfect moment, that seeks validation before moving forward. That version protected me once — but now it only holds me back.

What I’m stepping into is bolder:
More confident in my craft.
More trusting of my voice.
More willing to take up space, charge my worth, and create without fear.

Releasing the old makes room for the version of me I’ve been growing into all along.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
“I wish you knew how much light you carry. You don’t have to rush or prove yourself to anyone. You are worthy exactly as you are, and everything you’re hoping for is already on its way. Keep going, keep trusting yourself, and don’t be afraid to take up space — you grow into someone you’re truly proud of.”

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
The truth I hold — even when most people don’t agree — is that slowing down is not the same as falling behind. I’ve learned that taking my time, protecting my peace, and moving at my own pace actually gets me farther than forcing myself to keep up with everyone else.

Most people believe success requires constant hustling, nonstop output, and never taking a breath. But I’ve realized that when I pause, regroup, and move intentionally, my work becomes better, my creativity is stronger, and my life feels more aligned.

Not everyone understands that kind of pace…
but it’s the truth that’s changed the way I grow.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What will you regret not doing?
I’ll regret not taking more chances on myself, not stepping into opportunities just because they scared me, not trusting my talent, my voice, or the path I feel called toward.
