Charity Johnson of Mobile service on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Charity Johnson. Check out our conversation below.

Charity, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Family!!!!! Losing my mom on 3/5/2025 has been one of the hardest chapters of my life, yet even in that pain I am reminded of how important family is. Her love and strength continue to guide me, and her legacy lives on in every embrace, every laugh, and every moment we share as a family. (I love and miss you mama, AKA Shorty LoLo).

What brings me joy now is being present with my family—especially as a mother and an auntie. Spending time with my adult children, my nieces and nephews fills my heart in ways words can’t fully capture. They remind me of innocence, hope, and the beauty of life’s simple moments. Shoutout to all of them: they keep me going!!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

I’m Charity Johnson, the proud founder of The Tipsy Bloom—a business blossomed from the stillness and reflection of the COVID era. With a background as a Federal Investigator and a master’s degree in Homeland Security, I’ve spent my career rooted in service, structure, and purpose. But it was my love for flowers, wine, and meaningful connection that led me to create something beautifully different.

Born and raised in Louisiana and now a proud Dallas resident of nine years, I launched The Tipsy Bloom as a way to merge creativity, community, and celebration. What started as a personal passion quickly became an interactive experience where guests design fresh flower arrangements atop full bottles of wine or champagne.

Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, planning a date night, or hosting a team-building event, The Tipsy Bloom Workshop offers a joyful escape—filled with color, conversation, and hands-on artistry. It’s more than a floral class—it’s an experience where you sip, bloom, and leave inspired.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
There was a principal at an elementary school that my younger siblings attended. She heard that they had an older sibling. Once she met me, she instantly became my mentor. She exposed me to so much. She was the first person to show me a world outside of my underprivileged environment. Her name was Gwendolyn Wade!

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me humility, resilience, hope, and faith. It reminded me to believe in myself and unveiled the growth that comes from being uncomfortable. It grounded me, showing me that the blessings God has for me will never miss me. Through suffering, I gained character, peace, and selflessness. Today, my light shines bright, and my energy is infectious because of it. I am the rose that grew through the cracks!!

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
This is an interesting question. I tend to present as being very polished. But the truth is: I am such a rambunctious and free spirited person. I can be intense, but I am naturally goofy like my father (Heyyyy Daddio). I try to not take life too seriously and I find joy in all things. I come from very humble beginnings so I have learned to be comfortable in all environments. I truly “get in where I fit in”.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
My legacy will be one of confidence, kindness, and resilience. When people reflect on me, I want them to remember a spirit that was warm, welcoming, and overflowing with love. I want my presence to have added value, to have left behind footprints of encouragement and empowerment in every life I’ve touched.

My legacy will remind others to love themselves deeply, to show grace to their own journey, and to extend that same grace to others. I want my friends and family to carry memory banks overflowing with laughter, joy, and unforgettable moments of togetherness.

Most of all, my legacy will prove that dreams are never too big—that with consistency, faith, and daily affirmations, anything is possible. And to anyone who has ever crossed paths with me, may they always remember to look in the mirror and boldly declare: “I’m the shit—don’t forget it!”
