Today we’d like to introduce you to Clare Morrow.
Clare, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today.
We are all one phone call away from the tragedy of life-changing news, and at age 41 I got that call that changed my life. I was told that my mom had stage four cancer, and it was very aggressive. Mom urged me to get checked out, and it turned out that genetically I have a 1 in 4 chance of getting cancer. Yikes, well I decided I wasn’t going to wait around for it or encourage it with bad eating habits.
Around the same time my husband, Randy Morrow, also got that phone call. His brother passed away suddenly from a major heart attack. So we both decided to get into the gym and clean up our diet. I lost 35 pounds & my husband lost 30. I then trained to compete in the NPC bikini division which led to my IFBB pro card at age 45. I would never have thought this was possible, but sometimes things can seem impossible until one day it happens. To this day my husband is my biggest supporter. We train together, meal prep together & cheer each other on 100%.
We’d love to hear more about your work. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from it?
I think for us we soon realized that age truly is just a number! I started training at age 42 and Randy at age 60!
We both had goals to be as fit as possible but had no idea how attainable it actually is if you know what to do. It’s not just training, but so much of it is correct nutrition. Nowadays we try to inspire and help others realize that they can get fit at any age and to not give up.
What advise can you give to people?
I think the stigma for women over 40 has evolved so much! We can be who we want to be nowadays and not worry so much about what others think.
Be you, do you and always be the encourager.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you?
