Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelangelo Comulada.
Michelangelo, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
If I recall correctly my story in the Photography/film industry began 20 years ago. I remember that day when I asked my dad if I could borrow his home video camera so I could make my first short film. He lends me his camera and that’s when my journey began.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Filmmaking and photography are my forms of art. I just love making films and love taking Pictures. Life can be very difficult sometimes and because our responsibilities or circumstance sometimes we can’t do the things that we love to do. It hasn’t been a smooth ride per say, I’ve had my obstacles as most indie filmmakers/ Photographer does when starting off in the industry but I have learned that sometimes sacrifices must be made in order to achieve the goals and things we want in life. My message that I hope people can take away is “spend your time wisely, educated yourself, stay focus, work hard and don’t give up “. Start by taking 30mins out of your busy schedule and start doing the things you love to do.
The stereotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
Start small and then move up the ladder. Don’t focus on making money at first but rather focus on getting better at your craft. Learn, practice and repeat. Learn, practice and repeat. 🙂
