Check Out Abigail Peterson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Abigail Peterson.

Abigail Peterson

Hi Abigail, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I recently graduated from High Point University (located in High Point, NC) with my Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. I am originally from Stillwater, Minnesota and I knew I wanted to work somewhere else in the United States where the interior design industry was bigger. I ended up getting an interview with Meredith Ellis Design, and from there, I was offered a job as an Interior Design Assistant. I had never been to Texas before I took the job, but I knew that this opportunity was one that I could not pass up. I moved to Dallas, Texas in June and began working at the company. My education at High Point University, along with my internships I had during college allowed me to begin my career as an Interior Designer. I have interned with Style & Structure (located in Stillwater, Minnesota) and Baker Furniture.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest challenge so far has been doubting that I will be a successful designer. I think interior design is a difficult career to feel confident in because there are so many talented and unique designers already out there. However, I had to tell myself that I received a great education and I have had so many amazing mentors along the way that believe in my abilities. This is what allowed me to realize as long as I have faith in myself and I just put myself out there, I can make anything happen. I decided that this had to be my mindset especially since I was moving to a brand-new city and state.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an interior designer specializing in luxury residential design and architecture. I am proud of the fact that it has been a dream of mine since I was younger to make a career out of doing what I love – designing houses and working in beautiful spaces of architecture. I think my drive and passion for design and architecture sets me apart from others – I appreciate all aspects of the design process, and I think taking elements from all time periods is beautiful.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I have a personal design brand called Abigail Elizabeth Interiors, where I work freelance on a range of design projects and consultations. I have an Instagram handle @abigailelizabethinteriors and also a website called Abigail Elizabeth Interiors. I appreciate any and all support for those who want to watch me grow as an Interior Designer.
