Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Jones.
Hi Alexis , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I play basketball my whole entire life. When I picked up a basketball, I just never put it down. And I kept pushing myself every single day to be the best that I can be. And I went in the championship at Irving MacArthur. I ended up going to do for two years duke transferred the Baylor to be close to the home because I got home sick. I ended up getting drafted to the WBA won the championship my first year. I was the first round 12th pick. I played in the WNBA for four years. I played overseas for 6 to 7 years and now I’m at where I’m trying to build my own AAU team for girls basketball. It’s been a process to develop girls right now. I’m praying to keep loyalty from the parents and trusting in me to prepare their kids each and every day.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a bumpy ride. I was pretty much the best player in college until I got drafted to the Minnesota links where I didn’t get any plan time in the WNBA, which made my career harder. But I got the opportunity to play overseas and still be happy from time to time at times that you’re not happy a lot but overseas because some days they might not pay you on time and they just don’t really treat you right all the time overseas, but I got the blessing to travel the world and see another side of world, which is a beautiful country
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m most proud of myself, not giving up not allowing the basketball situation that I’m going through of not playing anymore. Affect my every day life trying to figure out a different way to make money and also be happy and also have an opportunity to build my own business and to enjoy that process more than anything. What set me apart from people. I did the work in basketball already I put in the time I put the energy. I have a lot of accomplishments and not only does that set me apart. I’m still doing that in every day life right now at this moment another thing that says me apart is that I like to do music on the side when I have free time and I’m just alone.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I can Collab with them on anything that has to do with basketball sports. And I also can Collab with them doing music because I’m into music right now so I can Collab with that too as well and I’m also into modeling.
