Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Johnson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Cowboy This, LLC was established on September 28, 2025 by Amanda Johnson. I am driven by my passion for fashion and a love of all things western that started from a very young age, I had always dreamed of opening my own store, and am truly blessed to be able to bring my vision to life. I was inspired and encouraged by my husband to follow my dream and my youngest daughter has also been instrumental in helping me jump in head first, both feet to the fire! My goal is to have fun sharing what I love with my community and surrounding areas, and I want everyone who comes into my store or shops online to feel special. I offer western apparel for both women and men, accessories, and gifts. I feature and sell hand-painted original artwork in my store. I also have a custom print shop for making T-shirts, tumblers, trucker hats, etc. I am ready to bring your vision to life too, whether it be personal style advice or making custom products for individuals, sports teams, or businesses. Peace, Love, and Cowboy This!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all – from store front location issues, to the negative naysayers, to unimaginable printer issues (causing a delay in opening my print shop), and finally, my husband being seriously injured at a bull riding event shortly after I opened – all created setbacks along the way. Through prayer, grit, grace, and determination, I got through it.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
For the past 23 years, I have worked in my hometown of Keller, Texas, (primarily in Finance) for Keller Independent School District. My husband and I also own and are passionate about our local organization, Cowboy Youth Bull Riders Association. We organize and run youth bull riding events (mutton bustin’ to junior bull riding) at the Wise County Fairgrounds from September-December of each year. In my spare time, I enjoy riding horses or just being outdoors with our dog or our cattle, or spending time relaxing at the river with my husband.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a very shy child until I turned 12, then my parents said I never met a stranger and never stopped talking from that point on! I did some modeling in high school and served on the Teen Fashion Board for Dillard’s Department Store and for Northeast Mall. That era just sealed the deal with my goal of one day opening my own store and my continued love for fashion.
