Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Aranda
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been drawn to the art of photography. Even as a child, I found joy in capturing moments through the lens, and there’s something about preserving memories that has always made me feel alive. However, it wasn’t until I became a mother that I truly began to appreciate the power of photography—not just as a creative outlet, but as an emotional and therapeutic tool.
After I had my daughter four years ago, I found myself going through a very challenging period with postpartum depression, especially as a first-time mom during the pandemic. It was easy to feel disconnected from myself and the world around me. But through photography, I was able to reconnect with my creativity and express emotions I couldn’t put into words. It helped me find a sense of purpose and joy in the little moments that I might have otherwise missed.
Photography has become an essential part of my life. Over the past year, I’ve pursued it more seriously and professionally, and it’s been one of the most fulfilling decisions I’ve ever made. The process of capturing emotions, milestones, and personal stories has brought me so much happiness, and it’s something I’m incredibly passionate about. Now, I’m excited to continue growing as a photographer and share that passion with others through my work.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I first started learning photography, it was incredibly challenging to understand the technical aspects of my camera and how to create the results I envisioned. I remember feeling overwhelmed by imposter syndrome, questioning whether people would actually want to book me as a photographer. That doubt really held me back at first. But over time, I made a commitment to learning and improving. I invested in education, practiced constantly, and sought feedback from more experienced photographers. As I gained both technical skills and real-world experience, my confidence grew. While imposter syndrome still creeps in occasionally, I now feel much more capable and confident in my ability to pursue my dream as a photographer. I’m incredibly grateful for the journey and how much I’ve learned, and it’s been rewarding to see how far I’ve come in just the past year.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a lifestyle photographer specializing in capturing authentic moments for couples, maternity shoots, milestone celebrations, and families. My work focuses on creating natural, candid images that truly reflect the emotions and stories of the people I photograph.I specialize in capturing intimate and meaningful moments, from engagement sessions to maternity milestones, and family portraits. I focus on creating a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for my clients, allowing them to feel at ease while I document their special moments in an authentic, timeless way.
I’m known for creating a relaxed, fun environment during my shoots, which allows clients to feel at ease and be themselves. This helps to build a real connection and results in more authentic and beautiful photographs. My clients often mention how comfortable they feel working with me, and many have returned for milestone moments, which I believe speaks to the quality of the experience I provide.
I’m extremely proud of the growth I’ve experienced over the past year. I’ve built lasting relationships with my clients. Seeing the impact my work has on families—capturing precious memories that they’ll treasure forever—is incredibly fulfilling. It’s something I’m truly proud of and what keeps me motivated.
What sets me apart from other photographers is my dedication to building meaningful connections with my clients. I don’t just want to take their picture—I want to tell their story. By taking the time to understand their unique personalities and preferences, I can capture moments that feel authentic and true to who they are.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
A key quality I believe is crucial to my success as a photographer is attention to detail. Whether it’s capturing the perfect moment, managing lighting, or fine-tuning post-processing, it’s often the small things that make a big difference in the final image.
