Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Cameron.
Hi Ashley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Ashley Cameron, I am the owner of DFW’s traveling beauty service Ashley Studio. I started this business in 2020 when, like many of us, I had too much time on my hands and took a moment to reflect on my life. I’ve always been an artist and committed to turning my passion into a paycheck. I’ve had other successful artistic careers, but during this time I reconnected with my love for makeup artistry and decided to simply take a chance with trying to gain some freelance work. Before this time, I had done makeup for many women in my personal life, as well as educated myself with about every tutorial since the beginning of YouTube (yes, I’m obsessed)- so I felt confident in my ability to work with a new face. I began creating different profiles online for vendors who connect you to clients and began gaining work fairly quickly. Since then, I have been blessed to be a part of many weddings, birthdays, baby showers, charity events, photoshoots, and more for the past two years! It has been an exciting new time for me to connect with my local community, support myself, and to continue to grow as an entrepreneur and artist.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am 26 years old with my first business, so to say it has been a smooth road so far is anything but the truth. The biggest challenge for me as a new makeup artist has been the business side to it all. When I first started, I thought my biggest issue was going to be getting someone’s foundation the right shade; but as I continued to grow my cliental, I realized managing appointments, relationships, and finances was really what was going to bring success. If you want a good business, you have to build a positive reputation through reliability and trust.

Our mission is to make you feel confident, happy, and relaxed for your important moment! Unlike many other beauty services, Ashley Studio travels to you so you can stay in the comfort of your own space, get glammed, and be off on your way to your event without any extra hassle.
So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me as a makeup artist is helping my client see the unique beauty that they possess and to have fun celebrating that. Each of us have our own look, and as a MUA I want to highlight this in every feature of my clients! I’m always happy to share my knowledge with clients as I’m working on how to apply makeup for their own features. In doing so, I hope to pass on some encouragement and knowledge to experiment on their own! Nothing makes me happier as a MUA than to help others learn more about makeup to help them accomplish their own goals.
