Today we’d like to introduce you to Blythe McPherson.
Hi Blythe, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Graduated school 2015, practiced as an associate doctor in plano x almost 4 years, then opened cold in Westlake, TX in 2020 during beautiful COVID era. We’ve continued to grow and we did an expansion 1.5 years ago. This area is a great place to practice and I love the people and community.
These are a great sum of to my vision of the practice “Eyes on Westlake was designed to be different. Beyond exceptional eye care, we aim to provide an experience that really resonates with our patients. We understand that your eyes are the window to your soul and, most importantly, your health.
We are dedicated to providing an experience to remember. Gone are the days of stuffy visits to the eye doctor — we want eye care to be enjoyable! From a friendly smile to a complimentary glass of wine or craft beer, Eyes on Westlake is here to add a little something extra to the world of professional optometry.
Eyes on Westlake was built with a creative spirit and bold objective. Our mission is to make eye care fun and engaging with friendly staff, innovative technology, and trendy, unique eyewear.
We strive to delight our patients from the moment they connect with our team and for years to come. We provide each patient with unparalleled customer service and believe everyone deserves to see the world a little brighter.
Eye care doesn’t have to be boring… let us show you!”
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not – opening in 2020 speaks for itself of struggles. We were supposed to open in May 2020, covid push that back to Nov 2020. I was also getting married in 2020, supposed to get married in May 2020, that also got pushed back to october 2020. Then I opened in Nov 2020, found out I was pregnant in Jan 2021, then the hellacious snow storm of Feb 2021 happened and my practice flooded due to pipes bursting in the vacant space adjacent to me. So all that work to get open, just to start renovation and construction all over again 3 months later. It’s been a wild ride. We just celebrated being open 5 years and in that time I’ve also had a total of 3 babies so my patients joke with me that I’m always pregnant. It’s been fun, it’s been challenging, but its been the best decision betting on myself.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are an independent optometry practice who specializes in dry eye and ocular surface disease. We offer comprehensive eye exams, medical eye care, emergency eye care, contact lens exams. We pride ourselves on staying cutting-edge and utilizing state of the art technology. We have a beautiful optical boutique showroom that focuses on high-quality, handcrafted frame lines from all over the world. Dr. McPherson has a passion for treating dry eye and ocular surface disease and she has invested heavily in advanced, interventional technology such as OptiLight IPL, OptiPlus Radiofrequency and TriLift to truly help manage the direct cause of the disease rather than treating only the symptoms. We are known for being a warm, inviting space with an AWESOME team offering a unique eye care experience. We are super proud that we reached 500 5 star google reviews in less than 5 years.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
