Check Out Brittany Marshall’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Marshall.

Hi Brittany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2017 I chose to start my venture in cosmetology school. When covid hit in 20 I was doing 5$ haircuts out of my apartment with the help of YouTube and a horrid pair of clippers. This is where I found my passion for men’s hair. When COVID let up I ventured out to my first men’s hair salon, and after 5 years of working in shops all around Fort Worth to hone in my skills I decided, with the reassurance of my clients, it was time to branch out on my own. In 2024 I got put in a really hard spot, a franchise I had been a part of for a better part of 5 years were going corporate and I couldn’t cooperate with the rule changes, and my other booth rental shop was closing down. This was all during the time I needed to resign for my apartment and my rent was going to become unmanageable. My precious grandparents offered for me to rent one of their rental homes back in my hometown, and after a quick google search I learned I could open a business inside of a residence, and this was how B’s barbershop was born. I created my brand around the 3 c’s, community, consistency, and connection. I converted the garage into fully functioning barbershop and I decked it out with your classic black and white floor tiles and some antique barbering equipment I’ve collected over the years. With the help of my returning clients, and being a part of the benbrook chamber of commerce, my business has grown so much over the last year and a half we started 2026 with a second stylist so we can service more of our community.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The paperwork part of opening a business was hard in the beginning, and getting the electronic side of business down also posed a challenge. But passed that it’s been a pretty smooth road for me I’ve been super grateful for the support of my community.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I’m known for is going the extra mile, every men’s cut includes a straight razor neck shave and complimentary shampoo upon request, and I take pride in thorough consultations so my clients never feel rushed or like “just another appointment.” My goal is to make sure every person who sits in my chair walks out feeling better than when they came in. What I’m most proud of is building my business from the ground up. I opened B’s Barbershop as a single-owner shop and have grown it into a consistent, revenue-generating business with a strong local reputation and loyal client base. I’ve also created opportunities for others, bringing on team members and developing systems that allow the shop to scale. What sets me apart is my mindset. I don’t just see myself as a barber, I see myself as a business owner and community builder. I focus on client relationships, branding, and long-term growth just as much as the service itself. I’m constantly looking for ways to improve the experience, expand the business, and create a space that people in the community genuinely want to be part of.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned by far is qualify and connection outways general skill. Of course everyone wants a good haircut, skills come with time. But finding a way to connect with each client and provide them quality service and conversation is what keeps them coming back.
