Check Out Brock DuPont’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brock DuPont.

Hi Brock, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey started almost by accident. Nearly a decade ago, I was helping run an event company with my brother and sister-in-law, and we needed photos of our events. So, we bought a camera. I took one class to learn the basics, but from there, I was completely self-taught. Photography quickly became a passion, and I started saying “yes” to any opportunity—whether it was yoga studios, coffee shops, or small businesses—just to gain experience.

For years, it was a side hustle, but everything changed during COVID. I was offered a role at a design agency where I handled client experience and photography, giving me the chance to do what I loved full-time. That’s when I honed in on the food and beverage industry, realizing how much I enjoyed capturing the atmosphere and personality of hospitality brands.

After freelancing for a few years, I moved to Dallas in 2023 for a job at a small social media agency that specialized in restaurants and hotels. That company eventually closed, but instead of seeing it as a setback, I saw it as an opportunity. I launched Better Days Marketing, a social media and content creation agency dedicated to helping restaurants, bars, and hotels showcase their brands online.

What sets us apart is our flexibility and social-first mindset—we don’t do one-size-fits-all strategies. We tailor everything to the unique needs of each business, ensuring their online presence is as inviting as their in-person experience. Today, I get to combine my love for photography and marketing to help hospitality brands grow, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest struggles was transitioning from photography as a side hustle to a full-time career. In the early days, I had to take on a wide range of projects just to build my portfolio and gain experience. That meant long hours, inconsistent income, and constantly figuring things out on my own.

Another major challenge came when I moved to Dallas in 2023 for what I thought was an incredible opportunity at a small social media agency. Leaving behind everything familiar was already a risk, but when that agency shut down, I found myself at a crossroads. I had built relationships with clients and knew I had the skills to help them, but launching my own agency wasn’t something I had planned. It was a huge leap—balancing the pressure of keeping clients while simultaneously building a business from scratch.

Of course, running a business comes with its own hurdles. The hospitality industry is fast-paced and ever-changing, so staying ahead of trends, adapting to new social media algorithms, and proving the value of quality content to potential clients is an ongoing challenge.

But through it all, the common thread has been resilience and adaptability. Every setback has led to growth, and each challenge has pushed me to refine my approach. Today, Better Days Marketing is thriving because of those lessons, not in spite of them.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Better Days Marketing, we specialize in social media and content creation for the hospitality industry, helping restaurants, bars, and hotels build an online presence that is as inviting and dynamic as their in-person experience. We offer photography, videography, and strategic social media management—everything businesses need to showcase their brand and connect with their audience in a meaningful way.

What sets us apart is our flexibility and social-first mindset. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions. Instead, we tailor everything—our creative approach, strategy, and pricing—to fit the unique needs of each client. Whether it’s a high-end hotel that needs a polished, luxurious aesthetic or a neighborhood restaurant looking for an authentic and approachable feel, we adapt to make sure their brand shines in the best way possible.

I’m most proud of the fact that I’ve been able to turn my passion into a business that truly helps others succeed. Seeing a restaurant fill up because of a campaign we ran or a hotel gain recognition after a content refresh—that’s what drives me. I love storytelling, and at the end of the day, that’s what my work is all about: helping hospitality brands tell their story in a way that resonates with their audience and drives real results.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was an extremely outgoing kid. I knew everyone in my school and made a point to build relationships with as many people as possible. I was also very involved in sports, which taught me the importance of discipline, resilience, and constantly striving for improvement. Beyond sports, I was deeply involved in my community—hosting talent shows in high school, helping run a youth leadership conference, and volunteering at my church’s youth group, where I found fulfillment in mentoring and working with younger generations.

I didn’t tap into my creativity until college, which is when I discovered photography. It was a transformative moment that set me on a completely different path. Before that, I was a hard-working, fun kid who was driven by challenges and new experiences.

College is also where my entrepreneurial journey began. I started working at a small men’s suit store in Columbus, Ohio, during the spring of my freshman year. With just four employees, I quickly learned the ins and outs of running a business—from marketing to inventory management. At the same time, I was helping my brother and sister-in-law run a small events marketing company. We took on every gig we could, learning as we went. This is also when I bought my first camera, which ignited my passion for photography.

I entered the hospitality industry much like I’ve entered other industries—by saying “yes” to new challenges. One connection in Columbus led me to an agency in Dallas, and that eventually pushed me to start Better Days Marketing. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors who shaped my journey. My high school pitching coach taught me to focus on what I can control and let go of the rest. The owner of the suit store took me under his wing and taught me valuable business lessons. My brother has always been my biggest supporter and challenger, and my wife, who’s also my business partner, pushes me every day to make Better Days Marketing the best it can be.

These experiences, combined with the amazing people I’ve met along the way, have shaped who I am today and the values I bring to my business.
