Today we’d like to introduce you to Catharina Foster.
Hi Catharina, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
At the intersection of excellence, authenticity, and style stands Catharina Foster — a Dallas-based fashion and lifestyle influencer, top-performing medical sales professional, and rising voice in the sports community whose journey is a powerful testament to grit and grace. Her story is proof that you don’t need a perfect starting point to build an extraordinary life — just relentless faith, the pursuit of excellence, and a refusal to settle.
Born and raised in Nebraska, Catharina grew up with the heart of an athlete and the soul of a visionary. She played collegiate basketball while earning her degree in Biology and Communications, and that competitive spirit has carried through every chapter of her life. Four years ago, Catharina sold everything she had, packed up her life, and moved to Dallas with one goal in mind: to create a better future for her son. After relocating to Texas, she built a career in medical device sales with no roadmap but unwavering determination, she rebuilt from the ground up — pouring herself into a career that would not only provide for them, but position her among the best in the medical device industry. After years of consistent hard work and discipline, she earned national recognition in 2024— including being named the #12 Territory Manager in 2024 along with joining the elite Chairman’s Club and Wall of Excellence.
Catharina has made waves in the world of medical sales by climbing the ranks in the highly competitive sports medicine space in Dallas. Her protocols have even been adopted by top orthopedic physicians, including doctors affiliated with high school, collegiate, and professional teams. What sets her apart isn’t just her performance — it’s her leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to connect with both patients and medical professionals on a human level. One of Catharina’s favorite parts of her job is helping athletes — from high school stars to NFL athletes in the critical early stages of recovery after ACL surgery. It’s a role that hits close to home, as she personally endured two back to back ACL tears in her left knee, injuries that significantly impacted her own athletic career. Because of that, she gets to be more than just a medical rep, she gets to be a voice of hope. “I know what it feels like to wonder if you’ll ever be the same again. I get to walk into the PACU and remind patients that not only can they come back — they can come back better.” Playing such a small part in the recovery of her patients and having the opportunity to be a voice of hope during hard times has become a full-circle moment — and one of the most fulfilling aspects of her work.
While her career is rooted in healthcare, Catharina also embraces creativity through fashion and lifestyle content — a passion that began as a hobby and has since evolved into a curated digital brand. She is passionate about creating space and community for other women to see that they can be strong, stylish, and successful all at once. She loves collaborating with local businesses and restaurants in Dallas. She is currently working on a project that she looks forward to sharing with the community of Dallas that will unite her two passions, fashion and sports. In a city known for big talent and bold ambition, Catharina is not just keeping up — she’s setting a pace. Stay tuned.
Her advice to others chasing a dream?
“Pursuing excellence comes with a cost that most are not willing to pay. It’s going to be hard, really hard, sometimes unbearable. You’re going to experience hate and discouragement. But, in the midst of all the difficulty and adversity, something beautiful will be found–the people who truly support you, your purpose in life, and the gifts that God placed inside you to share with the world.”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t been easy, and honestly, I wouldn’t want it to be. Growth doesn’t happen on smooth roads. The most defining moment for me came four years ago when I made the decision to sell nearly everything I owned and move to Dallas with my son. It was the biggest risk I ever took, I didn’t have family or anyone that I knew here, only a vision and a whole lot of faith.
There were times I questioned if I made the right decision. I’ve felt alone in rooms. I’ve been overlooked, underestimated, and stretched beyond what I thought I could handle. And on top of it all, I’ve navigated single motherhood while building a high-performance career in a very competitive industry. But, out of the 7.3 million women in America who are single mothers, I am living what less than 0.5% will ever get to experience. I beat the odds, and for that, I am incredibly grateful.
I’m the oldest of three and the head of household in my family. I was the first person to attend a four-year college, and the first to earn a six-figure income, but that came with a cost. I’ve always been the black sheep, the one that is commonly misunderstood. While I am so proud of how far I have come, the truth is, it’s been a lonely road. My parents haven’t always been able to support me emotionally or fully understand the weight of what I’ve taken on. That kind of isolation, being celebrated externally while feeling unseen internally, is a battle not many talk about. But it’s real. And it’s shaped me.
Physically, I’ve had my share of battles too, including two ACL tears in my left knee that completely altered the course of my athletic career. At the time, it felt like everything I had worked for had been taken away. But now, I see those injuries as the beginning of something greater, a pain that gave me purpose. Today, I get to walk alongside athletes going through that same recovery process, not just as a medical rep, but as someone who truly knows how hard it is to walk through all the aspects of an injury. For me, basketball was never just a game. It was the place that made me feel most safe, where I could pick up every bad thing that ever happened to me and turn it into something beautiful. When I suffered my injuries, I was forced to sit face to face with pain and learn who I was outside of being an athlete.
The hardest part has been continuing to show up with excellence while carrying so much behind the scenes. But that’s also where I’ve found my strength. I have learned to count it ALL joy.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work in the medical device industry, specifically within the sports medicine space, where I serve as an Area Sales Manager. I specialize in post-operative recovery and work closely with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and other medical specialties to create protocols that improve healing outcomes, especially after major procedures like ACL reconstruction. I’m proud to play a part in the continuous elevation of post-op recovery within the sports medicine industry.
At my core, I’m known for two things: performance and connection. In 2024, my team ranked #1 nationally, and I was recognized as the #12 Territory Manager in the company, earning Chairman’s Club and Wall of Excellence honors. Along with 6 of my Territory Managers making the Wall of Excellence. But beyond the metrics, what I’m most proud of is the people that my Territory Managers have become through the pursuit of excellence and the trust I’ve built with providers and patients alike. I’ve carved out a space for myself in an industry that’s incredibly competitive, not just by working harder, but by leading with authenticity, adding value, and building real relationships.
One area I’m especially passionate about is helping athletes recover from ACL surgery. As someone who experienced two ACL tears myself, I know how devastating and isolating that process can feel. So when I step into a recovery room, I’m not just a medical device rep, I am a voice of encouragement. I get to remind patients that they’re not alone, that comebacks are real, and that resilience is built in the hard moments. I don’t take that lightly.
What sets me apart is that I don’t see this as just a sales job, this is mission work for me. I’m not just a rep. I’m a leader, a problem-solver, and sometimes, a quiet source of hope for people navigating pain and uncertainty. Whether it’s leading a team, educating a surgeon, or advocating for a patient, I show up with heart, strategy, and value oriented follow-through. And that’s what makes the difference. More than I love winning, I love putting in the work and heart that it takes to win.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I’d prefer not to answer this question.
