Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe Garcia.
Hi Chloe, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hey y’all! I’m Chloe Garcia, I’m 20 years old and I was born and raised in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas! I genuinely could not see myself living anywhere else. I have been on social media since about 2013! I did competitive cheerleading for 7 years at Cheer Athletics and that’s how my following began. I had to quit due to a back injury my junior year of High School, where I also did high school cheer. I have depression and ADHD, which made it hard for me to learn and focus in school, therefore, I graduated a semester early, in 2020. Throughout my high school years, social media was genuinely an escape for me. I decided to share my struggles with my mental health online, and my following began to grow. It was so cool to feel so accepted by people for struggles that I felt so alone in. I also want everyone to know that you’re NEVER alone, and you ARE strong enough and able to get through the struggles, even when you feel like you can’t. I’m here cheering you on, never be afraid to reach out. I have made so many amazing lifelong friends through social media, and I have been blessed with so many opportunities. I wanna say a big thank you to VoyageDallas for this interview! Love y’all, bye!!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Social media definitely has its perks, but there are also negatives. I have been ridiculed for my weight, or posting too much, or putting too much of a filter on a photo. Being judged for being yourself online, can be incredibly intimidating, but just know, the right people will love you, no matter what!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m super excited to speak on this topic because it’s something I just recently decided. Growing up, my great-grandpa, BopBop, as I called him, haha, was a pilot. I remember going to the flight museum with him often, and watching JJ the Jet Plane `in the giant theatre. Everything there was so fascinating. I want to be a private pilot! I think it’s the coolest most fascinating thing, and I will be touring a flight school this coming week! Stay tuned to see where it takes me!
What does success mean to you?
To me, success is helping others, while building yourself up as well. Bringing value to our world and showing love and kindness to all while doing so.
