Today we’d like to introduce you to Corey Devon
Hi Corey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been singing since the age of 3. I was born into a musical family who loves God. My mom and her siblings traveled/toured all over Texas, Oklahoma and parts of New Mexico singing. I have many cousins who play an instrument and or sings. For many years I lead worship and directed the church choir at my Uncle’s Church – Praise Center Ministries in Lubbock, TX. I have my bachelor’s degree in Music Education and taught in the public school system for nearly three years. I currently live in Minneapolis, MN where I lead worship at Miracle City Church. Last year I released my first single as an independent Gospel Artist. In July I did a live recording and will release my new single in December.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road is always smooth. I believe once I stopped doubting the gift that I’ve been given and began to believe more in myself everything fell into place.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known for singing. Outside of leading worship and being an independent artist – I’m also a choir director, vocal coach and I own my own Booking Company. Creative Light Management exist to artist as they navigate their calendar. I enjoyed negotiating contracts and helping to make an artist life easier so they are able to focus on their talent.
