Check Out Craft Brew Guild of Grapevine’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Craft Brew Guild of Grapevine .

Craft Brew Guild of Grapevine

Hi Craft Brew Guild of Grapevine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
The Craft Brew Guild of Grapevine was formed in March 2017 because of the founders’ love for Grapevine, volunteering, and the local craft brewing community. While serving as advocates for the destination, the Craft Brew Guild members volunteer for Main Street Fest – A Craft Brew Experience each May, GrapeFest® – A Texas Wine Experience each September, and local brewery events. Members are passionate, fun-loving, and can often be found sharing stories with a local craft brew in their hand. We have more than 40 members who meet on a monthly basis in the Grand Hall of the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (the building on Main Street with Glockenspiel Tower and the Unicorn statue named “Imagine”) where we invite a local Texas brewery to come out and share about themselves, their brewery, their beer, and their passion. We sample some of their craft brews, talk about CBG business, and enjoy the deep friendships that come together.
Our members join with a wide range of craft brew experience, from knowing nothing about craft brews to being an avid homebrewer. That’s the amazing thing about this group – people from different experience levels can all come learn together!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s hard work starting a new civic organization! The founding members spent more than a year working on all the details, bylaws, and plans to make sure it had the highest standards. Then, as we were really getting things going, the COVID-19 pandemic hit and we had to pivot to virtual meetings for a while, but it’s been smooth sailing ever since!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Craft Brew Guild of Grapevine is most known for providing highly skilled volunteers for serving craft brews at Main Street Fest and GrapeFest. All 40+ members volunteer for both festivals each year and one-third of our members are also part of Visit Grapevine’s Steering Committee. That committee helps support the Grapevine Festivals Team in planning, leading, and executing these major events! If you see folks in grey polos and green aprons at these two festivals, they are members of the Craft Brew Guild of Grapevine! We also support local breweries by supplying beer-educated, draft-pour trained, TABC Certified, and reliable volunteers to their events. We are so proud to give back to the Grapevine community and all the visitors who come out to enjoy the festivals and events and we have a lot of fun doing it!
