Check Out Dallas Wise’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dallas Wise.

Dallas Wise

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hey, my name is Dallas Wise, and I am the owner of Dallas-sized cookies. I was inspired by my mom, sister, and brother. My siblings had a lemonade stand and sold lemonade to make money. My mom is a caterer and was selling her product line at local farmers’ markets, so I asked her if I could sell my cookies also. She said yes and my first time selling, my cookies sold out. In the Spring of 2020 during COVID-19, my mom enrolled me in a kid entrepreneur class. I earned a chance to learn more information about having my own business. That’s when I launched my business in 2020 Dallas Sized cookies.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When we were invited on the Tamron Hall Show, we had orders due all around the world. As the weather changed from Spring to summer, cookies were coming out hard or were even broken when the customers received them. I was also struggling with a few of my cookie recipes. A few times the cookies were not up to standard. They were coming out of the oven flat or coming out too hard. It forced me to start over and create new cookie batches. It was also hard finding a strategy of packaging the cookies so that they would remain fresh upon delivery.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I bake pastries for people to enjoy like cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and even macaroons! I specialize in cookies, like Chocolate Chip Cookies, my creation the Ying Yang, Crimson & White, Sugar Cookies, and Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies. I am also known around the world for being on the Tamron Hall Show. My orders spread as far as Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, California, North and South Carolina and Georgia! We reached a few cities in Texas such as Houston and San Antonio! I am also known for being on Spectrum News at just ten years old baking cookies in a commercial kitchen. In December of 2022, I made the Dallas Morning Newspaper! My news story made it to several schools around the world and I was excited to send the schools cookies and they interviewed me on Zoom platform. I am most proud of coming up with my special recipes of my cookie flavors, especially Ying Yang, the mixer of a chocolate chip cookie and sugar cookie. What sets me apart from others is that I am only 12 years old and baking all different kinds of pastries and cookies.

Any big plans?
I am working on a gluten-free cookie for people who have gluten allergies and cannot eat wheat ingredients in regular cookies. I am also working on a dairy free cookie for vegans. My challenge is going to be a sugar free cookie for all the diabetics that have made that request.  I am looking forward to meeting more people in the future that can give me advice, training, or information to help me grow my business. I’m excited to attend the Teen summit I was nominated for in Washington DC in September. Another big plan is to keep moving my company globally.
