Check Out Dennis Washington’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dennis Washington.

Hi Dennis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After spending almost over 3 decade in the corporate environment, I wanted to do something that meant more than getting a paycheck. I landed on designing multiple (everyday) products that uses imagery specifically aimed at strengthening communities, building self-esteem, cultural tolerance and social awareness.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My biggest challenge which I share often with young entrepreneurs, is if you are currently employed and doing well but know you have a greater purpose, don’t wait until your cashflow ends to get started. Use your formative years to build a foundation for what’s next. I really wish I had started 3-5 years before leaving my job, making the transition more seamless.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m what I would call an old-school employee, working over 35 years with only 2 companies. I was a highly successful, award-winning Technical Writer that transitioned to Instructional designer and finally Marketing Manager. Along the way I became proficient in more skills and software platforms than I could list here. I was always early to embrace new technologies, tools and ideas. I’m also a shameless geek always looking for “what’s next”. My current passions are mentoring, video storytelling and learning practical uses for AI.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I strongly believe that the most important contributions we can make is to teach, learn and share our experiences. Listen to each other and work HARD to make this life experience better for all we touch.
