Hi Muva, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up as a kid, I was always interested in the performing arts, and I sang in church. Music has always been a huge influence on everything in my life. I began my DJ journey in 2016 when I had my very first paid gig. Since then, I have been grinding nonstop, and I am now coming up on seven years of being a professional disc jockey & three years of full-time entrepreneurship. I absolutely love what I do, and I want to continue to expand my craft.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has definitely not been smooth, but it’s been totally worth it. When I first began on this industry, in Detroit specifically, it was very male-dominated, so I had to prove to myself and to others that this is where I belong and this is what I should be doing. I’m not here to be cute and press cue buttons; I’m here to look good and step on necks while creating a household name for myself. I do more than just blending music; I create a symphony with my music.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a full-time Dosc Jockey and entrepreneur. I specialize in curating vibes and events you can’t find anywhere else. I am known for my uniqueness and blends; my ear for music is unmatched. I am proud of how far I’ve come. There have been a million times that I wanted to give up, but I pushed through, and I become better each waking day. What sets me apart from others is that I am Me, and no one can take that away or duplicate who I am or what I create.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
My business and professionalism is matters to me; I always want the client to be satisfied with the product or service they receive from me. I want to leave a great impression that will always make the client want to book with me first.
