Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Gleason.
Hi Elizabeth, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi! First and foremost, I would like to thank you for making time to read my story. I grew up in a very small town of 600+ people and I always knew there the world was greater than what we had been exposed to. My parents moved our family to the big city in the early 2000s and I saw opportunity. I just knew I was made for more and I wanted to give my kids the best life they could dream of. I am a small-town girl at heart but, I love the city!
A very young mom of four, I got into real estate through my realtor. She invited me to join her team, so here I am, 12 years later serving families, friends, and my community.
My career took a turn about four years ago when I jumped into my role full-time. I had the opportunity to learn from some of the best Realtors in Texas. I was married for some number of years and it ended unexpectedly, I had a decision to make, turn that pain into purpose, become the leader and primary breadwinner in our household. I had four kids to support, three of them were driving, one going off to college, a house, a dream, and purpose so much bigger than I could even fathom. I was nervous going from a salaried position to commission only but, my faith and trust in God led me to the path that I am on today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not always been smooth. I have personally been through a lot of struggles, I am grateful for them as they are the reason, I am the person I am today. All of the best stories are of redemption. The stories of people who get knocked down and continue to get up and show up, over and over again.
My number one reason for living, showing up, and continuing to try each day are my why. My four kids, Kallista, Enrique, Kyleigh and Jurni. I want to be the kind of mom they are proud of. I want to teach them about overcoming, purpose, serving, happiness, creating a life that you fall in love with every day. Also, I want to be an example for people, other women, that you can do anything. It’s never too late to re-write your story.
I have fought hard to be where I am today, and still in my failures, I am constantly learning. My greatest change came during the struggles of becoming a single mom, again, and letting go of the dream that my former life held. Not knowing what was on the other side, I am grateful for that journey and I can look back and appreciate the memories, experiences and lessons.
Being alone, staring at yourself in the mirror, and truly getting to know YOU is powerful. That’s when I realized my worth and the life I wanted to live. I felt like I was born again.
Let’s skip to the good part, three years later, I found love again! He’s dreamy, the perfect gentleman, and is my biggest supporter.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Top Producing Realtor in North Texas. I am proud to say that hundreds of families have trusted me with their real estate transactions. My business is built on referrals, repeat clients, and relationships. It is a gift to be able to wake up every day and do what I am most passionate about. It is challenging and ever-changing.
Through hard work, commitment and perseverance, I have been named a Top Producer within my brokerage since joining in October of 2019. I am currently a Team Leader, Vine House Real Estate Group formed under Rogers Healy and Associates Real Estate. I enjoy serving my community, mentoring, and giving back. We are all unique in our make-up, what sets me apart is my heart. I love people! I will usually tell my clients; we are going to be life-long friends after each transaction. I am happy to report I have a lot of friends! Real estate has definitely connected me with people I wouldn’t know otherwise and I hope to be remembered as someone who was always willing to lend a helping hand while wearing a smile.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
There can be great reward in risk, it is easy to get comfortable especially when we feel safe. I have taken many risks throughout the course of my life. I had a full ride to a university; I was going to pursue a medical degree. Instead, I was in a corporate environment, working for a trading card company, rubbing elbows with professional athletes, and learning how trading cards are made. Then, I worked a few administrative jobs and now I am a commission-only Realtor building an empire. I’m currently working on my own real estate portfolio, it is scary yes, it is possible, YES. If you have a dream, go for it!
My favorite verse is Proverbs 3-5:6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
