Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Wright.
Hi Eric, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I didn’t start from a perfect setup or a clear plan; it was more like figuring things out in the middle of chaos. Music and creativity became my way of making sense of everything I was going through, not just something I did for fun. It was survival first and expression second.
Over time, that turned into something bigger. I started shaping my sound and my image around real experiences. Struggles with health, faith, financial, and personal growth. Instead of hiding those moments, I leaned into them, and that’s what gave my work its identity.
Where I am now is still part of the journey. I’m building something that’s not just about music, but about impact, changing how people think, how they see themselves, and what they believe is possible. Everything I’ve been through plays a role in that, and I’m just getting started.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. There were times when I didn’t have much stability, like being homeless, dealing with epilepsy, and still trying to keep moving forward creatively at the same time.
A lot of the challenge was internal. Staying focused, keeping discipline, and holding on to a vision when there wasn’t much around me to confirm it. There were moments where things felt uncertain, and I had to figure things out as I went.
What those experiences did, though, was force growth. I had to become more consistent, more intentional, and more grounded in what I’m building. It wasn’t easy, but it shaped the direction I’m on now.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work sits at the intersection of music, storytelling, and psychology. I create music that draws on real experiences, struggle, growth, faith, and the mental side of what people go through in their day-to-day life, but I translate it in a way that feels natural, not instructional.
I’d say I specialize in blending emotion with awareness. Because of my background as a drug and alcohol therapist, I understand how people think, how they cope, and how they process pain. That perspective shows up in my music, but not in a way that feels preachy or like I’m trying to teach a lesson. It’s more about letting people hear something and come to their own realization.
What I’m most proud of is being able to communicate deeper ideas without taking away from the feeling of the music. Someone can listen just for the vibe, or they can really sit with it and find meaning in it—it works both ways.
What sets me apart is that balance. A lot of people either focus on sound or message, but I’ve built my identity around merging both in a way that feels honest. It’s not forced, and it comes from real understanding, not just observation.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I’d say resilience. Not just pushing forward when things are good, but being consistent when nothing around me feels stable.
There have been a lot of moments where it would’ve made sense to stop or take a different path, which I have tried plenty of times in each era of my music journey. Thankfully, at this point, I’ve learned how to keep going anyway by adjusting, learning, and staying grounded in what I’m building by finding work within the industry.
I think success, at least for me, comes down to that ability to endure and keep evolving without losing direction.
