Check Out Fahad Abukari’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fahad Abukari.

Hi Fahad, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I come from humble beginnings. Being innately affable and pragmatic led me to pursue business.

I started working as a salesman in a mom-and-pop beauty supply store while I was in college to help pay for my tuition. I graduated with a degree in finance and investment. I accepted an entry-level position at a hotel as a night shift auditor, quickly climbing up due to my prioritization and productivity. I currently work as a director of revenue for a hotel management company (M & R Hotel Management).

During the 2008 recession, I witnessed my family make and then lose an abundance of money like many other Americans amid the housing crash. I became fascinated with real estate by learning from their mistakes and knew I wanted to pursue it in the future when things got better.

I moved to Dallas after I got married to start a family and dip my feet into the real estate market. I quickly obtained my license and brokered with Whiterock Realty. I am currently cultivating my Instagram account of 130k+ followers by sharing my experience and knowledge of real estate investments. I also showcase luxury homes to acquire a higher-end clientele.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As is the case with almost every business, the pandemic took its toll. It was difficult maintaining balance with a full-time position as a director of revenue while simultaneously finding my footing to display my passion for real estate and real estate investment. On top of this, running a busy social media page can also feel like a full-time job. I have to constantly create content to keep my followers engaged. Another struggle is competition. The pandemic also created heightened competition in the real estate market. Because many people lost their office jobs, real estate became a more appealing career with the potential to advance and transition to being self-employed.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I take pride in selecting the perfect home for my clients. They say, “a house is not a home,” and I see this firsthand. Having my clients make the transition from house to a home is of utmost satisfaction. I help them visualize their new space and give recommendations as to what can be changed or utilized differently. I especially feel I am doing them a service when I help families who have outgrown their current space upgrade or when empty-nesters seek a more cozy environment to retire in. I specialize in walking through first-time home buyers because I know how anxiety-provoking it can be. I take pride in my honesty and my relentless client satisfaction. No move is too much or too far when it comes to finding the perfect fit for my clients. What sets me apart from others in my industry is my communication skills, empathy, and patience. I am able to negotiate with even the toughest of sellers because I understand homes hold a lot of emotional memories for people, and they are not just material possessions. My ability to see through others’ lenses weigh heavy on my scale.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I enjoy simple things. Sometimes I wake up to an email or greeting card from a past client expressing the positive impact I’ve made along their journey. Sometimes clients are not as outwardly vocal, but the smile on their faces as I deliver good news feels like a million bucks. All the sleepless nights and open tabs make it all worth it.
