Today, we’d like to introduce you to Faith Sycaoyao.
Hi Faith, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hi, thanks for the question! I’d say my life is still unfolding, and I’ve been fortunate to have had diverse influences and exposure to people from different backgrounds, including Southeast Asian, Arabian, and American cultures. Currently, I am learning about Southwestern European cultures as well.
In the past, I used to be an incredibly timid and quiet person until high school. But there was always this hidden big dream fueling my passion, tenacity, and discipline to persevere until I attained the goals I set for myself, and I’m slowly helping myself soar. What’s helped me gradually strengthen my current abilities, self-esteem, and overall confidence is a widespread yet effective phrase. It’s where we embrace discomfort while taking leaps of faith! I also feel uneasy when I let an opportunity slip away from my hands, so I always find a way or an approach to achieve it. I believe those helped me grow and discover more about myself, as well as my newfound passion for philanthropy aside from art. All of these enabled me to push above my previous limits and become an improved version of myself!
Life also grows more exciting when you step out of your comfort zone; therefore, don’t be frightened to change environments if you feel that you aren’t developing as a person. I also believe that everyone can eventually realize their full potential if they put their heart and soul into it and believe in the universe’s capacity to give what is meant for their life.
Thus, time is scarce yet a valuable asset, and by taking risks, being open to new knowledge and experiences, and believing in ourselves, we can become a better version of ourselves and contribute positively to the world around us with the causes closest to our purpose!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It is never a smooth road; there are always failures, struggles, and obstacles to overcome in life alone, but these are the factors that make you stronger as they test your patience, resilience, and belief in yourself. I am convinced that the most silent battles, harshest roads, and loneliest paths always give rise to the best outcomes, rewards, and a bright future. So, constantly have faith in the process and God!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a 19-year-old college sophomore majoring in International Business and Economics. I’m primarily known for my passion for art through personal studies, content creation, and charitable work for children under refuge, medical conditions, and impoverished circumstances, as well as environmental initiatives, as I’m currently holding positions as a Team Leader for an art donation project in Seattle, Therapeutic Artist and Writer for various medical centers across the United States, Marketing Director in California, Deputy Graphics Director for Climate Cardinals in Washington D.C., one-time projects in Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Europe, etc.
Currently, what I delight in most about my work is the positive impact it has on the lives of others, which provides me a sense of comfort and fulfillment, too!
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I believe today’s industry trends and market are highly competitive and improbable, but I constantly look at it optimistically as an opportunity to understand how much there is to learn, discover, meet, and correspond to!
