Check Out Felipe Valencia’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felipe Valencia

Hi FELIPE, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always had a deep passion for art and design, which led me to explore graffiti at a young age. This love for bold, expressive art evolved into a focus on lettering, illustration, and graphic design. I entered the advertising industry in 2015, and since then, I’ve worked on multiple projects for some of the world’s most recognized brands.

One of my greatest achievements has been receiving recognition at prestigious creative festivals, including Cannes Lions in France, Clio Awards in the U.S., and LIA in London, among others. I’ve also had the opportunity to work as a Creative Director, allowing me to take on leadership roles in various agencies.

Throughout my career, New York’s graffiti culture has been a major source of inspiration, especially its use of bold, oversized lettering. I’m always looking for ways to merge this aesthetic with contemporary design and art. Recently, I’ve been working on making my art more accessible, with plans to release pieces for sale and even organize an exhibition. I also moved to the U.S. to continue growing as an Art Director and Artist.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all—it hasn’t been an easy road, but it has definitely been a journey full of valuable lessons, both rewarding and challenging.

I’m passionate about creative ideas, but bringing them to life is often not as simple as it seems. It requires a great collective effort. Success isn’t just about talent and discipline; it also depends on teamwork, clients, and sometimes—even luck (if you believe in it).

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Graphic Designer and Art Director. I’m recognized for my detailed and meticulous approach to both personal and commercial projects. My work blends creativity, functionality, and a strong visual identity that allows me to stand out in the industry.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked on a wide range of projects, from branding to advertising campaigns, always with the goal of delivering clear, visually striking messages. What sets me apart is my ability to fuse art with graphic design, creating pieces that not only serve commercial purposes but also tell stories and connect with audiences on an emotional level.

One of the things I’m most proud of is developing my own distinctive style—rooted in graffiti but evolved into a more modern and accessible design language. This fusion has allowed me to bring a unique perspective to every project I work on.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
If I had to sum it up in one phrase, I’d say: “Never back down, never give up.”

Persistence and self-discipline have been the foundation of my career. I firmly believe that success in the creative world isn’t just about talent—it’s about constantly evolving, learning from failures, and pushing forward despite the challenges. My determination has allowed me to overcome obstacles, refine my craft, and continue growing both personally and professionally.
