Check Out Gin Blanton’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gin Blanton.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always had the desire to be in film and television and vowed that one day I would produce films. In 2009 I produced and directed my first feature film which was sold on Amazon. Shortly after I wrapped production of that film I was offered a job of being an on-air sports reporter covering the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks.

After five seasons of sports reporting my desire for film and television took me to Los Angeles, California where I was able to cover many red-carpet events and was fully immersed in the acting industry. While living in L.A. I had the pleasure of working on various television shows and movie sets which provided me with the knowledge and on-hand experience to be able to run a film production set.

In 2020 I decided to return to Dallas and I began production on the feature film ‘Chloe’s Pocketbook Diary which was released to streaming platforms in March 2022. My second film, ‘Just Between Us Girls, is set to release in December 2022. I recently wrapped filming on my third film ‘Intentions’ which will be released in the first quarter of 2023.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, the road has not been a smooth one. I have had to overcome many obstacles being a woman of color in this industry. My struggles mirror the struggles of other women that have paved the way before me. I hope to be able to make the journey a little easier for other young women trying to find their way in the entertainment industry.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an actress, film director, and producer. I am also a sports and entertainment reporter. I am most proud of never allowing my desire for any role or opportunity to overcloud my self-love and integrity.

What’s next?
My plan for the future is to continue along my current path. Releasing content that provides opportunities for minorities and women both in front of and behind the scene. I also plan to release more content that is relevant to the 35 and older demographic.
