Hi Gurpreet, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Posh Beauty Glam by Preet, I started this very recently for which I have to list my special start date of January 13, 2023, a very special day for me as it marks 10 years in when my marriage arrangement was made (1/13/13 – yes 13 is my lucky number btw) but definitely very special that Posh Beauty Glam by Preet started the same date also and not on purpose. I feel it means to me that Posh Beauty Glam will be as a BIG and special brand in the next 10 years as well I hope. Besides the start date, Posh Beauty had been a thought lingering around for a couple years which I feel there was not a perfect enough time for but God made it happen, a real plan for me to put use for the gifts he’s given to me. Today I feel this start is still very fresh and new, which I hope it always feels this way, but getting so much together, I mean from branding, equipping myself, to marketing advertising, styling shoots, networking, working with people and clients, building memories and creating relationships and connections to so much more but to actually launch a name that is being spread across quick. All I know is that I wish I only had started sooner, but better late than never, and to where I am today and all the hard work I put in this every day continues to proves about where I will be able to be one day with Posh Beauty.
My main reason of where I am today especially is to prove to my daughter, my community that we as women can accomplish anything we put our mind and heart too; she is a motivation to me besides my husband, who is my biggest supporter, my son, my best friend, my family, my sisters whom us as being an only girls family should leave a footprint that there was something we once created from bottom to top.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So far honestly, I can say nothing is easy and perfect, especially not being an entrepreneur. There have been days when you have to fight your demons, the discouragement, you can either hear or see day to day basis that you have to keep going. As a full-time mother to my 2 children, as a wife and daughter that keeps a joint family functioning daily, it can be hard to step away from a full-time professional career the (9-5) and from everyday family life at times to build your own passion as a new entrepreneur. I can’t say the road has been too bumpy or smooth, but I can say a lot of sweat, tears, hard work, perseverance and my why, which is feeling fulfilled and motivated to achieve your dreams.
What’s not smooth but yet feels satisfying is when I’m the first one awake early most mornings or the last one to sleep at night after putting kids to bed and our family meals which can be long daily haha, but gathering my thoughts, my kits, doing all the behind the scenes work, sanitization, practice, organizing, restocking, reordering supplies, cleaning, emails, replying to messages, timelines details, following up with each client personally, packing and unpacking the car with all the heavy weighted kits, and so much more to make sure my clients get everything needed for their special event, BIG day and for all the “just in case” moments. I would say this is what it means to work for yourself, YOUR business, you work hard day and night.
People tell me it’s a crazy overworked career, not any kind of job security which I know was a big decision to leave my 9-5 job, BUT.— I call it being and thinking like a HUSTLER! I am crazy about being a hard-working HUSTLER and always have numerous entrepreneurial ideas that I share with my close friends, but I would say I followed my father as he is such a hardworking man that gave us those values that no job can be big or small if you’re working, you can do it all. This also gave me the understanding while choosing a husband that if he can work hard back home in the agricultural world which he did as a farmer on their owned land, taking care of his family, all while being a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree that we can survive from working hard and EARNING. The woman I am today, as a mother, a wife, a daughter that has always kept FAMILY 1st I can say we made it BIG in life just like our parents wanted and are humbly grateful.
Today in life, I can for sure say it’s my turn to do something for MYSELF in MY WAY while educating myself! My friends say I am born to lead an example and to offer the world something that I’ve been blessed enough to conceive in creating a brand and a name hoping it to be one of the well knowns one day for my sisters, my children, and for all my family, especially to all those who may have not had hope for us, trust me Posh Beauty may seem new and small but it I will work hard to make it a mighty one in the next couple years.
God has put many dreams in my heart and mind that the quote that’s well known I share: “it’s amazing that the days we have today are the ones we once prayed hard for,” yes indeed we prayed hard for where we all as a family and individually stand today. Being 4 girls, as a daughters family only, myself being the rebel 2nd child, which yes I had hard days that broke and made me, that I will prove daughters can do maybe the same or more than sons are said to do, I did. I always wanted my sisters to be happily married and well settled as that was my parents main motive of life besides taking care of everything for us. My parents came to this country as immigrants, to live the American Dream with me being only 6 months old back in the 1980s, they gave us all they could, which I can say the world to us in their ways, and with the knowledge they had, they didn’t disappoint us. We always had some certain people look down on us as we were an all girls only and we didn’t have enough education as they would compare to themselves maybe, but that didn’t matter to my parents or us. We all made our ways working hard. My mother was a homemaker, and my father worked very hard as a chef with his brothers in the family restaurant business, my father believed in honesty, hard work, and sharing with others in need, which I always kept close to my heart. I value in working hard whether whichever field we choose that we give it our 200%, we do the work that the lowest role has to do as well as a leadership role also; if I couldn’t do that part of the job then I better not be the one to ask someone else to do it because it’s wrong. Today I can say for our family after a lot of hard and good times, God gifted us and my amazing husband the role to keep the family together, in one home, YES.My parents and in-laws we all love together as well as sisters and husbands, we all enjoy our time together while our parents spoil and love on their grandchildren. It was our dream as sisters to retire our father since he worked so hard for us as well as other family members, and we were blessed with husbands that made it happen all. We are all successfully married; we are parents ourselves, taking care of our parents and each other by all living under one roof as a joint functioning family.
Posh Beauty Glam is now the new focus for me and my complete family, it’s a valued homely caring environment that maybe not found everywhere in today’s world, and we hope to be a part of your special day and to give the feel to all those who come through our doors by providing the best in anything we bring to you in any form of services being family focused.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
After years of working in the medical profession, which gave me a sense of purpose and fulfillment, I couldn’t shake the excitement I felt when experimenting and creating with makeup and hair. Art was always my go-to subject in school which makes sense why I’m here today. With support from family and friends, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my passion. So here I am, introducing myself on my as a certified medical professional turned into a Professional Certified Makeup Artist & Hair Designer Specialist. I may have left the medical field, but I’m excited to embark on this new journey of creativity and self-expression, to provide my clients with the same compassion but in the beauty industry with a regal and luxurious experience as the owner of Posh Beauty Glam by Preet based in Allen, TX.
While being an independent owner, I make sure to provide the personal but professional level of service with my full attention.
Brand wise, I am proud with the given name of Posh Beauty Glam by Preet; being a POSH classy brand, it shows how unique and authentic I am as an individual along with my brand is for the services I provide are unmatched. PBG also s sounds to me where I was born and where I’m from Punjab= PB. Anyway while helping my parents organizing weddings of my younger sisters, from planning, designing, and coordinating everything my mom and I always wanted to give an extraordinary look to everything we decided for the weddings and brides and grooms since I arranged them. A very special aunt from the UK that has blessed us all in so many ways would always mention you all have such a Posh style in everything you all do at your weddings, and usual events, the way you all carry yourself, dress, hair, speak, and your demeanor is just so Posh and Royal, so it was a gifted word and special that always stuck with me which turned into Posh Beauty.l which we believe in providing the royal feel.
Posh Beauty specializes in weddings for Bridal and any special events which mainly the focus could be any occasion or a just-get-me-glammed event. My signature look can be a bold glam or a very softly glowing natural glam, whichever my client prefers as suitable for all ethnicities and cultures. I always communicate, providing a result of what the client asks for, and listen carefully that way we can come together and discuss what suits each Posh Beauty client I work with. I believe Makeup is not the only reason that you will look beautiful; you’re beautiful regardless; we are coming together to add the Posh touch to enhance your beauty that will be captured from your special day to forever.

Persistence
Every successful person has experienced failure—multiple times and in multiple ways. What separates them from the rest isn’t that they fail less; it’s that they persist more. When faced with a setback—even a large one—those who succeed don’t let it stop them from continuing forward.
A Desire to Improve
Successful people don’t consider themselves to be perfect. Even if they have great confidence in their abilities, they still work to improve, identifying where they have weaknesses and doing what they need to do to strengthen themselves. Investing in myself to provide the best to my Posh Beauty’s.
A Commitment to Learning
One thing you’ll note if you talk to a highly successful person is they often have an amazingly detailed knowledge of their field. And many have an incredible knowledge of other fields as well. That’s because a good portion of success is understanding the ins and outs of what you’re trying to do and the world at large. So, I always make sure to keep up with the diversity, where the trends are today with the beauty industry.
