Check Out Hannah Harper’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Harper

Hi Hannah , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into photography truly began in 2020, though the love for it had been growing for years. Before then, I would pick up the camera, explore a little, but it was in 2020, when a friend asked if I could help with a wedding she was doing, that everything fell into place. I jumped in, and from that day forward, I haven’t looked back. I officially launched my business in 2020, and it’s been one of the best decisions of my life.

A big part of why I’m so passionate about photography is my three beautiful nieces. They’re my inspiration, my reason for doing what I do. I love capturing all the special moments of their lives—the laughter, the mischief, the joy—and that same passion spills over into how I approach every other moment I photograph.

Whether it’s a big, once-in-a-lifetime event like a wedding or the small, everyday moments that make life so meaningful, I’m driven by the desire to preserve those fleeting memories. There’s something magical about freezing time for just a second, allowing people to hold onto their memories forever. That’s what keeps me going.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My photography journey hasn’t always been easy. I often wrestle with imposter syndrome, especially when I see so many talented photographers around me. It’s easy to doubt myself in this field, but I remind myself that God gave me this gift for a reason. Despite the challenges, I choose to use my photography to glorify Him, capturing the beauty in life’s moments—both big and small. It’s through this purpose that I find my strength to keep going and to trust in the path I’m on.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in capturing real, authentic emotions in the moments that matter most to people. Whether it’s the joy of a wedding day or the simple, everyday moments with family, I focus on telling a story through genuine expressions and connections. What I’m most proud of are the relationships I’ve built with the families I work with. These aren’t just clients to me; many have become dear friends.

What sets me apart is how I make sure my clients feel comfortable and at ease, which allows their true personalities to shine through in every photo. I believe that building trust and a genuine connection is key to capturing the most natural and meaningful moments.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding a mentor and networking can often be a journey of trial and error. You’ll likely encounter various individuals along the way, but it’s important to recognize those “gems”—the people who inspire you and align with your values. When you find those connections, invest in them; learn everything you can from their experiences and insights.

However, it’s equally essential to remember that while you can draw inspiration from others, you must make your journey your own. Embrace your unique perspective and style, and don’t be afraid to carve your own path. Networking is about building genuine relationships and sharing knowledge, so approach it with an open heart and mind.
