Today we’d like to introduce you to India Quezergue.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was originally born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and I moved to Arlington, Texas, around 5 to 6 years ago. My mom and dad have always been into art and things of that nature. My father doing tattoos while having a corporate job, and going into the garage of my MiMi’s and seeing drawings and paintings made by my mother in high school and college. So, within that, I think I was always made to be creative and influenced by art. Today, living in South Dallas, I’m fed a lot of inspiration, whether that is day by day, through online media, or my personal experiences. I honestly do do a lot, I’m a model, photographer, DJ, stylist, painter, and so much more.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes, I’ve hit certain bumps in the road, like not having consistent funding for certain personal projects, working while also being a full-time student(which is also a blessing), not having a consistent source of income if I’m not working, or a consistent way of transportation, and other thing’s I might’ve forgotten to mention. But through it all, it provides lessons and experiences and an opportunity to grow tremendously.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m in multiple art/creative mediums, such as being a painter/artist, DJ, model, photographer, stylist, and I make music. I do, however, think I’m more known for my paintings, modeling, and photography, but I do want to, in the future or present, display my other talents that I’ve listed. I think I’m most proud of being able to showcase my art physically, like recently at COLORWAAVE #004 on June 7, 2025, but also to simply post my art; what I’m most proud of is for people to see my panoramic of art. What sets me apart from others is that, when it comes to my artistry, my focus is not money-especially if there is no growth from what once was to presently. What sets me apart from others is my want and need to put out good sh*t(crap wasn’t suiting enough).
What were you like growing up?
I was and am still pretty stubborn, honestly, as well as emotional and nurturing. Within my interests, I had one too many, and I still actively do; back then, I played the trumpet, was slightly more into gaming, played the guitar and piano, cooking as if I was a chef on “Chopped:, etc.
