Today we’d like to introduce you to It’s really whatever podcast Kiki, Tj Shawn, and Amanda.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Kiki- Since a little girl I’ve always been told I should be on tv/radio because I had the personality for it, As I got older, I was determined to figure out if this was really a passion of mine. One day I was talking with my cousin who also happens to be my best friend; We discussed the new idea I had for a podcast. She has always been one of my biggest supporters so she was interested in helping me start up a show. We then teamed up with Amanda who had also shown interest from a previous show I started. I like to think of us as crazy sexy cool (Amanda being the crazy, TJ being the sexy, and me kiki being the cool) which is the perfect blend for an all women panel. You never know what you’re going to get from us hints the name “It’s really whatever podcast”. We are still growing and learning as we go so we hope everyone stays tune because I believe we really have something here.
Tj- It all started with my cousin Kiki sharing her dream of wanting to become a radio personality with me. It was never something I wanted to do but I wanted to help her in any way that I could; to bring her a dream to fruition. In the midst of helping her with our first online radio show “Pandora’s Box”; I discovered a love for podcasting & sharing my views & opinions with the world.
Amanda- I’ve always been an outgoing person and I find joy in making others laugh and have a good time. While getting my degree in Communications, I started a YouTube channel where I learned to do video editing. Shortly after I had an internship running social media and marketing accounts. I grew a passion for the entertainment industry since and found my love for public speaking and I have even been an MC at events. All of these experiences have led me to where I am today as a co-host on It’s Really Whatever Podcast. Only place to go from here is up!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Figuring out what works best for us. In the beginning we started out with the name “Pour decisions” but as we grew more into who we were as a whole. we Outgrow that name. We want to stay Authentic and true to ourselves and beliefs. we do not want to be labeled or put into a box which is almost impossible when you have 3 strong powerful Opinionated black women. Our name fits us perfectly.

We are a podcast located in Dallas Texas with a panel of 3 black women. Our podcast covers a variety of topics. You never know with us lol. The show can be pretty much be summed up as bi polar at times and usually runs for about an hour; within that hour we can go from serious to funny, to crying and laughing at the same time. We are most known for our transparency and our chemistry on air. We are most proud of the feedback we receive from viewers and the friendship we maintain on and off camera even when we don’t agree we all agree to disagree and move on… #Nexttopic
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
With starting a podcast, you cannot be afraid to take a risk. You just have to go for it. Of course, you always have questions in the back of your head like, am I wasting my time? Making sure the things we do make sense to our vision. Are we representing ourselves in the best light. We think everyone should go out and take risk!!! You never know where it might lead you. You could be missing out on your purpose because you are afraid to take a risk. Whatever you are thinking about… GO DO IT!!!
