Today we’d like to introduce you to Janea Waddy
Hi Janea, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I had my oldest daughter, Sydnie, in 2008, and I cherished being a present mom during those early years. However, once she started school, I felt the urge to enter the workforce while also pursuing my education. As I navigated adulthood, I sought a career that would allow me to stay engaged with my family while also providing a good income.
Interestingly, Sydnie would often suggest that I look into real estate, saying, “I think you’d be good at that.” I brushed it off at first, but after welcoming my second daughter, Makenzie, I realized I wanted to continue being a hands-on mom while also contributing financially. I reflected on my strengths and passions, and it became clear that helping others was at the heart of who I am. As a natural empath with a big heart, I find fulfillment in supporting personal growth for myself and others.
Inspired by Sydnie’s suggestion, I decided to take the plunge into real estate. I graduated with my degree and enrolled in real estate courses, earning my license in 2023. I was uncertain about my next steps, but I joined a real estate team led by Keleisha Anderson, who was in the process of opening her own brokerage! To support my new career, I took a position as an administrative assistant with her. Fast forward to today, I’m proud to say that I’m now a licensed realtor and the VP of Operations at The Vibe Brokerage!
This journey has been incredible, and I’m excited about what the future holds.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been an easy journey at all. One of my biggest struggles has been navigating motherhood as a young mom while trying to cultivate my own sense of self. I’m working to raise my daughters to be confident and purposeful, even as I’m still learning those lessons myself!
I also have a clear vision for my life and what I want for my family. While my ambition drives me forward, I often find myself growing impatient with the process. I recognize that patience is a crucial part of this journey, so I strive to remain intentional with my self-awareness and in tune with God. This helps me stay focused on my vision because it’s HARD and life isn’t always hearts and rainbows. At the same time, I feel incredibly blessed to have a strong support system and to be surrounded by love throughout it all, as it could have been so much different.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I currently serve as the VP of Operations at The Vibe Brokerage while also working as a Realtor sponsored by the same firm. In my role as VP of Operations, I empower our agents to thrive by providing guidance and resources that enhance their professionalism and success. As a Realtor, I’ve been licensed for a little over a year, specializing in residential and commercial sales, rentals, and apartment locating!
My background equips me with valuable skills that benefit my clients, including strong negotiation techniques, in-depth market analysis, and a keen understanding of property values. I pride myself on my ability to connect with clients, listen to their needs, and provide tailored solutions that ensure a smooth real estate experience.
Working within The Vibe Brokerage allows me to continually develop my skills and stay updated on industry trends, which I apply in my daily real estate practice.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come and the freedom I have to run my business in a way that aligns with my values and provides me the ability to be present within my family. – With no limits on my earning potential, I’m committed to helping my clients achieve their real estate goals with confidence and ease and enjoy what I do.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I would say that The Alchemist is one of my favorite books, along with Think and Grow Rich and As a Man Thinketh. These works have really inspired my journey and assist me in knowing I have the ability and power to create and go after everything I want in life.
When it comes to podcasts, I love listening to sermons from Elevation Church with Pastor Steven Furtick. I also make it a point to surround myself with a tight-knit circle that keeps the momentum going and encourages growth!
