Check Out Jasmine Smith’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Smith.

Hi Jasmine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I always knew I was anted to live outside of the box. After years of working jobs I know don’t quite fit me, I started my search for something different. I ended up hearing a commercial over the radio one day about a local Barber College and it was like that idea never left my mind, I took it as a sign and ran with it. Fast forward 10yrs later I’ve had the opportunity to network with several other small businesses and give back by becoming a community youth advocate.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Every journey has its ups and downs but having discipline and keeping the same level of motivation is always key.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am barber and community youth advocate. I change hair lives and mentor the guys! Aside from creating great relationships with my clients I treat them as family. I push for mental health, I talk hygiene and all around self awareness to all of the youth and even some of the older men that come into my shop. The environment I create for my community is one of which you don’t have to hide who you are or what you’re going through. I have an open door policy because you never know whose life you can change! Blessings come in disguise and I’ve had the chance to encounter many!

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Discipline. It’s something I’ve had to learn and relearn constantly.
