Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmyn Reneé.
Hi Jasmyn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started photography as a hobby, just shooting friends and people around me. It was something I genuinely enjoyed, and over time I started taking it more seriously as I saw my work improving and people really connecting with it. I come from a sports background as a former Division I athlete, so that naturally played a role in getting me into sports photography. But as my business grew, so did my vision. I expanded into grads, families, and branding, really building a full-service experience around photography. Now I’ve been doing this for over 10 years, and for the past several years full-time. At this point, it’s bigger than just taking photos. It’s about creating a high-quality experience and helping people capture moments and milestones in a way that feels both elevated and authentic.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I actually started in portraits and family photography, and as I grew, I expanded into sports where I really found my passion. Breaking into that space wasn’t easy, especially being in a male-dominated industry. Shooting sports like football, I had to work a lot harder to gain respect and prove myself. There were definitely moments where I felt overlooked or underestimated. But I stayed consistent, focused on my craft, and let my work speak for itself. Over time, people started to see the value in what I bring, and that shift really helped open doors for me.
So while it wasn’t easy, those challenges honestly built my confidence and helped shape the brand I have today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a photographer and creative director based in Dallas, and I specialize in capturing athletes, grads, families, and brands in a way that feels elevated, clean, and authentic. While I’m widely known for my sports photography, especially working with high-level programs, my work really spans across multiple spaces.
What I’m most proud of is building a brand that goes beyond just taking photos. I focus heavily on the experience. From the moment someone books with me to the final delivery, I want it to feel intentional, professional, and memorable. That’s something my clients consistently come back for.
I’d say what sets me apart is my ability to combine an athlete’s mindset with a creative eye. I understand the moments before they happen, especially in sports, but I also bring that same level of detail and storytelling into every shoot, whether it’s a graduation session or a branding shoot.
At the end of the day, I’m not just creating images. I’m helping people capture milestones, build their personal brand, and see themselves at a higher level.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how much opportunity there is here. Dallas is a city where you can really build something from the ground up. There’s a strong sense of community, especially within creatives and athletics, and people genuinely support and show up for each other. It’s also growing fast, which creates space for new ideas, new businesses, and new connections.
What I like least is probably how spread out everything is. You can have opportunities all over the city, but getting to them can be a challenge. It can also feel a little competitive at times because there are so many talented people here, but I’ve learned to see that more as motivation than anything.
