Check Out Jemima Maweshi’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jemima Maweshi

Hi Jemima, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my content creation journey in the summer of 2023 to express my true voice. I’ve always been talkative, but I realized I hadn’t always shared what I truly wanted. My social media page was a personal project for me to be my genuine self. At first, I shared my love for makeup, fashion, and hair, hoping to connect with others who shared those passions. Over time, I felt called to bring my faith into the mix, sharing singing videos and messages that reflect my Christian beliefs.

Collaborating with brands like Ma:nyo and SKIN1004 has been a big milestone, letting me share honest reviews and offer discounts to my followers. Balancing content creation with my studies as a medical assistant has been tough but rewarding, and I love sharing my experiences through vlogs and daily updates. Through it all, I’ve stayed committed to being real and creating a space where people feel safe and connected. I’m grateful for the support and excited to keep growing and inspiring others along the way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. On top of juggling my studies and content creation, I’ve also faced challenges like a lack of engagement, burnout, and not being paid for my work. There were times when I felt like I wasn’t reaching the audience I hoped for, and that lack of interaction really made me question if I was doing the right thing. Burnout hit hard too. When you’re putting in so much effort and not seeing the results you expect, it’s exhausting. And not getting paid early on made it harder to stay motivated. It’s tough when you’re putting in all this time and energy without any financial reward. But even with all of that, I’ve learned to keep going because I’m doing this for me, not for the instant gratification. Staying true to my mission of being authentic and connecting with people has kept me going, even when things were tough.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I focus on creating content that feels real and raw, and I’m known for sharing a mix of makeup, fashion, hair, and faith, always staying authentic and honest. What sets me apart is my commitment to being genuine, whether it’s in my makeup tutorials, fashion tips, or faith-based content. I try to show up as my true self, even when things aren’t perfect.

Alongside content creation, I’m doing CMA training at my school, dual credit, and am graduating early at just 16. Balancing school and content creation has been tough but rewarding. It’s taught me a lot about time management and staying focused on my goals. I’m proud of building a community that values authenticity and staying consistent despite all the challenges. What really sets me apart is how I balance different parts of myself and bring them together in a way that feels natural. I’m excited for what’s next in both my healthcare career and content creation.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’d just like to share how much God truly means to me. He’s been my rock, especially during the tough times when I’ve felt overwhelmed or lost. His presence has kept me going when things felt like they were falling apart. Matthew 11:28 has been a verse that really speaks to me: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” It reminds me that I don’t have to carry everything on my own. My faith is what gives me the strength to keep moving forward, and it’s through God that I’ve found the motivation to push through even the hardest days.
