Check Out Jennifer Leogier’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Leogier.

Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been fascinated by people and the ways we move through the world, which is what originally led me to earn a master’s degree in applied anthropology in France. When I moved to the United States, my first chapter here was teaching high school. It was meaningful work, but over time I realized I wanted a career that was more hands‑on, more connected to the body, and more aligned with how I naturally understand people.

That’s what brought me to massage school—and I absolutely fell in love with it. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to build something of my own rather than work for someone else, so I opened my own studio right away. As my practice grew, I became increasingly drawn to more specialized modalities, especially craniosacral therapy and myofascial release. Eventually, I pursued advanced training and became a Certified Education Provider for LMTs

Today, I divide my time between teaching and working with clients. It’s the perfect balance for me: I get to support people directly through my hands‑on work while also helping other practitioners deepen their skills and understanding. It’s been a winding path, but every step has brought me closer to work that feels deeply aligned with who I am.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall, it’s been a pretty smooth road, but not because everything was easy. For me, the key has always been staying focused, dedicated, and consistent. Changing countries, shifting careers, and building a business from the ground up all come with their own challenges—whether it’s learning a new system, finding clients, or trusting yourself enough to take the next step.

What helped me move through those moments was a clear sense of direction and a willingness to keep showing up.

Every time I committed to the work—whether it was in school, in my studio, or in advanced trainings—I found the right opportunities and people along the way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I approach massage therapy as a collaborative dialogue between two nervous systems where the language of touch becomes an alley for transformation and health.

I have a deep-rooted passion to help people feel and move better in their body. Every second of our life, we are aging, but aging does not have to be associated with any negative thoughts. Aging can happen in wellness. This is the core of my approach to my work with my clients. Gain or regain wellness with the help of a caring touch. I like to spend time discussing and understanding my client’s history and areas of concerns in their body to tailor a very unique experience to meet their needs and expectations. No matter if you are recovering from a full hip replacement, training for your next triathlon or Spartan race, or if you need a dedicated space and time to reset from your daily life, I will work with you to bring the best out of our session.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I definitely haven’t done this alone. My family deserves a huge amount of credit—without their support, none of this would have been possible. They’ve been there through every transition, every training, and every leap of faith I’ve taken in building my practice.

I also owe a lot to my teachers. Each one brought a different perspective that shaped the way I work today. One teacher in particular said something that has stayed with me ever since: *“You are not the right therapist for every client.”* That simple truth gave me permission to trust my own approach and to stay aligned with the modalities that resonate most deeply with me.

As I specialized in CST and MFR, that philosophy became central. My work doesn’t rely on deep pressure, even though it can reach deep structures. And when someone is looking for a style of work that isn’t mine, I’m very comfortable referring them to another practitioner.

That mindset—knowing who I am as a therapist and who I’m not—has been a big part of my growth and success.

I’ve also been incredibly fortunate with the clients who have trusted me over the years. They’ve played a huge role in my growth.

Every person who comes into my practice teaches me something—about the body, about presence, about listening, and about the many different ways people heal. Their experiences constantly deepen my understanding of the work and keep me curious and humble. In many ways, my clients have been some of my greatest teachers.
