Check Out Jesi Rok’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesi Rok

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
First off, I have to thank God for another great opportunity to share my story. I have to take you back to when I was a kid who thought he already knew who and what he wanted to be. Growing up, everything around me was based on sports and athletics. I had other interests outside of sports which I only considered hobbies at the time. Learning the basics of playing the piano and, drums, was the beginning of an interest that I hadn’t thought about. Along with learning instruments, me and my younger brother were introduced to the Audio / Visual side of media production at our local church. That is what started my imagination of what all these skills could possibly become. Music was always involved in my everyday life but, I hadn’t realize that I was actually teaching myself what music meant to me. Let’s fast forward a couple of years. Now I make my living from the Audio / Visual media production world and I able to produce, write, record, mix and master my own music that is available on all your favorite platforms!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When it comes to chasing your passion, there is never anything that comes easy. In my opinion, the struggles start at the very beginning of the journey but, you just don’t know it yet. When you start your day, most of the time, you’re already in the mindset of building and or, accomplishing a piece of the dream you’re chasing. But the part that no one tells you is that sometimes, that passion in what you are chasing becomes the rough and bumpy road that you didn’t see coming. Some of the lessons that I’ve learned in my personal journey is, sometimes you will need that extra push for motivation and or encouragement to put new thoughts on your mind. Being an artist, producer and entrepreneur, comes with a lot of trial and errors. There’s not a book that teaches you how to conquer your passion so, you have to become your own textbook and, create ideas and other ways to finish whatever the project may be. I’ve learned through my own path that if it comes easy, it may not be the road you’re meant to be on. When you are on the right path, that’s when you’ll experience the roughest road you’ve ever been on but, you will be able to learn so much along the way that you forget about the roughness and more about the lessons and experiences you’ve gained. One thing that I will say is very important to me personally is, surrounding yourself with people that have that same mentality of overcoming the bumpy road and finishing the race to accomplishing their goals. That’s where you will find that extra motivation and encouragement you find yourself needing sometimes!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a producer, artist and entrepreneur. I produce, write, record, mix and master my own music. I also own and operate a media production company named
“ Collection Of Visuals “ with my younger brother Jeffrey Irokwe. Also, I am the director of marketing for the newest networking and social app by the name of RSVP Social! I love to create on both the entrepreneurial side and, the entertainment side. That’s where I think my different creative mindsets come from. When it comes to being different, I put myself top tier because of all the skills I have learned from people who are already in the positions I’m striving for. Being surrounded by professionals also allows me to learn and, pick up knowledge from different mindsets that I can add to my own. Being different is a skill on its on.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
There’s way too many memories from my childhood to count that I remember today but, I know most of my favorite memories involve my family. Me and my younger brother, Jeffrey Irokwe, are only 2 years apart so, there’s a lot of memories between both of us that we still talk about today. Between my mom and dad, I definitely have memories of lessons that I still put to use in my everyday life. Growing up, my dad was a software engineer and he would always show me and my brother how to use a computer and, how to use new technology that was coming out. So, a lot of my memories revolve around learning the skills that I get to use now!
