Check Out Jesse And Stacy Raymond’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse And Stacy Raymond

Hi Jesse And Stacy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
We started out making hats, when I had back surgery and couldn’t work. Stacy convinced me to try burning hats from bed, to give me something to do and maybe make a little extra money. With some practice and encouragement I got pretty good at it and people seemed to like them, so we started selling them at craft fairs. Eventually we started selling so many that we started selling online and it really took off. Stacy had to quit her job to run our business and make and design our beautiful hat bands and accessories.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t know that there is ever a “smooth road”. If there is I’ve never been on it. I think owning your own business, especially a small one, there will always be struggles, but it’s all about overcoming those struggles and coming out stronger. We struggle everyday with time, money, and basic everyday struggles that we all have to endure, but we always try to keep a clear head, and push forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We make custom hats, specializing in making unique pieces of art that you can wear. You can find us every weekend at the historic Madam Pearl’s Saloon in the Fort Worth stockyards, where we try to give our customers a unique “Texas” hat bar experience, where the customer gets to design there own hats with us! I think what sets us apart is the highly detailed art that I freehand right there in front of you, like watching me tattoo your hat! And then designing your hat band and adornments with Stacy.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next five years we are hoping to become a more permanent fixture in the Fort Worth Stockyards. We are in the process of building a more permanent hat bar at Madam Pearl’s Saloon so that we can be there more often. As far as trends and change, I feel like hats are always changing, so we try and keep up with that,

Pricing:

  • Stock hats start at $45
  • Felt and wool hats prices vary
  • Burnings are based off size and detail
