Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Boudreaux.
Hi Joshua, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started out in music and audio before I ever got into being a DJ and Wedding & Event Entertainer. It goes all the way back to when I was 17 years old and I got my first guitar! I have dabbled with guitar, bass guitar, harmonicas, singing, and running live audio for bands over the years. I even have some old music published online, on all the major music platforms!
Back in 2016, when I moved to Celina, Texas from NW Arkansas, I opened and launched a side business thinking I would mostly handle audio for bands and events. I quickly realized the most need at the time for what I was charging was for weddings. After I began doing weddings, I soon realized there could/should be so much more to weddings, than just bringing speakers and playing some music. I began networking with DJ’s and other event professionals all around DFW, and attending conferences and workshops for DJ’s and other Wedding Vendors all over the country, and I have been doing that every year since then. I’m always trying to add more value, learn new things, and perfect what I do for clients!
At this point starting out 2026, I am a professional DJ, Master of Ceremonies, and Entertainer who specializes in weddings and corporate events & has completed nearly 250 weddings and 250 other events. Music & audio are truly my passion… my dream job!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t believe it is ever a smooth road, when you are a business owner and entrepreneur, and especially when you handle every aspect of the business…. marketing, sales, performing, managing equipment, etc. One notable struggle along the way would include the great Covid shutdown and slowdown of 2020 & 2021, when I had 25 events that either rescheduled or just outright cancelled. Thank God I had a day job at that time, and that certainly helped me to be able to make it through.
Another struggle was when my 2025 year was slower than I wanted it to be,, so I went back to working as a contractor at a day job a few days a week after being without a job for several years. I am now planning to amp up my online presence and marketing for 2026, to try and fill my event calendar a little more this year.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I call myself an entertainer instead of a DJ, because there is a lot to what I do, other than just mixing/playing music. I offer lots of fun elements that I have discovered or created over the years, and I am a trained and experienced Master of Ceremonies who has worked large music festivals, corporate events for hundreds of people at a time, city events, school events and dances, and tons of weddings.
I would say I now specialize in weddings and corporate events. I have a variety of amazing, fun, touching, interactive, & tear-jerking elements that can be planned for and created specifically for wedding receptions.
I would say I am known for those unique element options, and having a classy,, high-end, professional look and service, when it comes to DJ/MC & Photo services. We offer 3 different photo options for our clients, karaoke, silent disco, DJ Trivia, DJ Bingo, etc. Just tons of different entertainment options, to fit any sort of event or crowd.
What I suppose am most proud of is being able to curate and help create so many remarkable, unforgettable memories for people who work with me to plan their weddings or events. It is such a great feeling when you can be a part of something that makes a room full of 50 to 300+ people smile, laugh, or even cry happy tears.
What sets me apart from others is the personalized service I offer my clients, those special touches & elements like telling a couple’s love story to their friends and family, recording and playing voiceover recordings for a crowd who has no clue that it is coming, and I am a single-op Entertainment company, not a big DJ company that just books you and assigns a DJ to “the gig”.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I hope you have a passion and love for serving others, because you will come across all types, and you are paid to make them smile. These days you have to be online with a heavy social media presence, because most people want to stalk your accounts online, instead of meeting in-person to discuss things. That’s why one of my 2026 goals is to put my face out there more, and create/post more video content. People will get to know you that way, even if you aren’t getting to know them.
