Check Out Kamari Holloway’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamari Holloway.

Kamari Holloway

Hi Kamari, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m 28 years old and I have been cooking and a foodie my whole life. It’s one of my best talents and passions! I grew up in a southern cooking family, my mom owns a cake business and my father used to have a food business so it was only natural for me! I literally watch food network in my spare time so I always had dreams to be on there or cooking channel one day. I always have shared my life, traveling, recipes and I have always aspired to be a model. I grew up watching Americas Next Top Model and always saw myself having big ad campaigns, walking in runway shows, working with designers and being the face of brands! I began creating content on snapchat and eventually came over to instagram and started doing food content. I always have posted fashion photoshoots and done music my whole life which is what most people enjoy the most from me! I dropped my first single on my birthday July 25th, 2019 called Run Me Some Money. It did well and impacted my community more than I ever saw it doing! Now I am hoping to drop more music soon. I just recently got signed to Exxcel Model & Talent Agency and am beginning my modeling/commercial acting career! My instagram content inspired me to just go to YouTube and share my travels and vlogging, also longer formats for my cooking videos where I share some amazing recipe videos! I have been a musician from being little, I always was in the choir and there is a lot of musical talent in my family. My first instrument was piano, and I played Clarinet from 6th grade all the way through college. I attended Tennessee State University and was a member of the Grammy Award winning Aristocrat of Bands on a 4 year scholarship all the way in Nashville, TN. The nations music capital! I got wonderful experiences there, one of the most iconic opportuities I experienced with the AOB was meeting Former President Barack Obama when we were invited to play on the White House South Lawn for the grand opening of the African American History Musuem in D.C.. I went to school for nursing and have been a Registered Nurse for 5 years now. I work in the Pediatric ICU and absolutely love taking care of my babies and I know for a fact it is my calling! I strive to make every patients life I touch better and be a positive blessing to them! I have always been a scholar graduating top 3% of my high school class and receiving automatic admission to any school in Texas. So academia was always in my wheelhouse as I have always been a science nerd! I have big plans to pursue every talent dream and passion I have ever had and continue to build my brand and my name and be able to elevate my family name, legacy and create generational wealth for my family.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the struggles I faced were just me getting in my own way. I suffered from imposter syndrome, not wanting to put myself out there out of fear of being judged or perceived by others! I naturally am a shy girl even though no one believes me! Also just being so busy, having so many talents and demands of me it held me back a lot being spread too thin. Being a jack of all trades isnt easy as sometimes you don’t know what to focus on! Also being a nurse that had to work through a pandemic really was tough to balance, I was working 6 days a week, 12 hour shifts for months at one point! I strive to make time for my dreams and save lives at the same time even if it gets tough and I get tired. Now that I’m learning balance and focusing on completion and execution I am seeing more success in my life but I still have a long way to go! Still taking care of myself and honoring rest is very crucial for me, I cannot pour from an empty cup!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am most known for my photoshoots and music, cooking and food content second. I am most proud of any photoshoot I do and my music. I have always had big dreams to accomplish this medley of talents I have and thats what sets me apart from others. Most people are put in a box and known for one thing. I am different because I do not allow for anyone to put me in a box and there is nothing I cant do! I can sing, rap, dance, cook, act, do hair/makeup, fashionista, photographer/videographer, I’m an entrepeneur and a scholar/intellectual as well as a healthcare professional! There is nothing that’s not in my wheelhouse and I cant wait to continue to make my dreams come true and become a household name and mogul! It’s very important for a Black woman who looks like me to be successful, as I know I am an inspiration to many looking up to me. Black people historically have went through so much pain and evilness from the very country we forcibly built. We still have not received proper apologies, reparations, and accomodations for the horrible acts of violence and mistreatment that we still continue to face every day in this country. It is my dream to pave a way for my people to continue to fight for equity and get back what we deserve. Me making it would open up so many doors that have been sealed shut from my people as a way to try to keep us poor and without power. That is something I am determined to change God willing! It’s time for us to be able to have the same priveledges everyone else has in America and we are owed that at the very least. My people will no longer suffer and be forced to be impoverished with no way out or help if it’s up to me!

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I would like to share with the readers how much I would love and appreciate their support! And how important it is to have self love and to keep God center in your life. Life is too hard to do it without God and lacking faith. All you need is faith the size of a mustard seed and stay focused on what God wants you to be, and to always love and respect yourself! Have healthy boundaries, say no, stand up for yourself, don’t be afraid to go for it. You can do anything you put your mind to and I love you and wish blessings upon everyone!
