Check Out KelliAnne Pratt’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to KelliAnne Pratt.

Hi KelliAnne, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My photography story is really just a journey of a simple curiosity turning into a passion I’ve loved for over 15 years. I started exploring photography around age 10, messing around with my dad’s camera and convincing my friends to do little “photoshoots” with me. That interest kept growing through my early teens, and by the time I reached high school, I decided to take it seriously. That’s when I started building real skills and realizing how much I genuinely enjoyed it.

I always had a feeling I could turn photography into a business, but I had no idea how to actually make that happen. It took a lot of trial and error, learning from mentors, and putting myself out there before I finally felt ready to pursue it wholeheartedly. I officially launched my business in 2018, even though I was still finding my footing and learning something new every time I picked up my camera.

In the last few years, I’ve become much more intentional about the business side of photography, not just the creative side. That shift has helped me grow my clientele and get a clearer sense of the direction I want to take my work.

Now, I’m at a place where I feel confident in my brand, my voice, and the work I create and I’m genuinely excited for what’s ahead!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth, and I would say that’s the case for most people. There are always growing pains! That’s just how life works.

I’ve had the privilege of gaining wisdom and insight from so many people, but honestly, my biggest lessons have come from trial and error. As much as I dislike making mistakes or feeling like I’ve let myself down, those moments always push me to adjust what isn’t working and try a new approach.

Every year, I find myself evolving how I run my business, because every year brings new knowledge, new experiences, and new opportunities to grow.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a portrait photographer, and I specialize in capturing people. Graduations are definitely my sweet spot, especially college grads, but I also love working with couples, small businesses, and personal branding clients!

My style is classic, clean, and timeless, but also vibrant and full of life. I want my clients to feel comfortable, confident, and uplifted during their session, and I aim to create photos that feel both polished and personal.

What I’m most proud of is the experience I give people. My approach is calm, direct, and guiding. I’m always posing, adjusting, and making sure my clients feel taken care of. I love getting creative to highlight their beauty and personality in a way they may not even see in themselves! It means a lot to me when clients tell me they enjoy their pictures and feel good in them.

I think what sets me apart is how much I genuinely care about people and their stories. Photography is my favorite creative outlet, but it’s also deeply personal. Being trusted to capture someone’s milestone, their personality, or even just a moment where they feel good in their own skin is not something I take lightly. I aim to create images that not only look beautiful now, but feel meaningful years down the road.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I wouldn’t say I’m a naturally impulsive risk-taker, but I do believe that growth almost always requires stepping into something unknown. I don’t believe risk has to be dramatic to be meaningful, sometimes the biggest risks are the small, consistent choices to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
