Today we’d like to introduce you to Kesha Austin.
Hi Kesha, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Bomb Studios is a vintage content studio in Mesquite, Texas, created for photographers, artists, models, brands & content creators. The studio is basically an extension of everything I love. Vintage fashion, vintage furniture, bold color & styling spaces. I wanted to create something that felt different from your typical blank photography studio.
What sets Bomb Studios apart is that each set is fully styled & has its own personality. A lot of the furniture & décor has been thrifted, sourced secondhand or collected over time, so you’re not walking into a space filled with things I just ordered online. 😂 I’ve personally poured a lot of myself into every room.
What I’m most proud of is creating a space that inspires other people to create. I want you to walk in with your own vision, see the possibilities & make the space your own.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to pivot without feeling like the original plan failed.
Because so much of Bomb Studios is built around vintage & secondhand pieces, availability constantly affected the design process. I changed sets, scrapped ideas, lost money in some areas & had to adjust my budget and business plan more than once.
What I’ve learned is that every change was not a setback. Some of the pivots actually made the studio better. Through it all, I’ve had to lean heavily on faith, patience & perseverance, trusting that God was still guiding me even when the plan changed.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a creative & stylist at heart. I specialize in vintage fashion, vintage furniture & creating bold, visually interesting spaces that feel nostalgic but still fresh.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to see potential in pieces that others may overlook & bring them together in a way that feels intentional. Whether I’m styling an outfit or an entire room, I love taking something old & giving it new life.
What sets me apart is that my creativity is very personal. I don’t follow a formula. I create from instinct, faith & what genuinely inspires me, & I think that shows in my work.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is my faith. Nothing in this world matters more to me than my relationship with the Lord. Everything I do has to align with my faith, my morals & my values. If I’m unsure about that alignment, I’ve learned not to force it.
When I was younger, I questioned myself a lot more. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that things come & go, & sadly, people do too. But what endures is the love of the Lord.
My desire is to use the gifts He has given me to reflect that love. At this stage of my life, that looks like creativity through vintage fashion, furniture & styling. I want what I create to be beautiful, but I also want it to have purpose.
