Hi Kimberly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello! My name is Kimberly but my friends and family call me Kim or Kimmy. Being born in a small town of Elaine Arkansas and growing up in Louisiana, due to having a military dad, my dream was always to have my own business and to create generational wealth for my kids. I’m a graduate of the best HBCU in the world, Grambling State University, where I obtained my degree in Business Management, which was my first step towards entrepreneurship.
After graduating college, and relocating to Dallas Texas, I became a mom and I was a single trying to make a way for me and my daughter, which was sometimes a struggle. In 2016, my husband and I started dating. Even though we were friends in high school, 20 years later, we fell in love. After 2 years of dating, we got married and now I’m a mother of 2 teenage girls. They keep me going. But I can’t forget about my fur sons. Ki-Mel and Chase, who complete our family in so many ways.
I wear so many titles; Wife, Mother, Dog Mom, Entrepreneur, Realtor, and the list goes on. I love to travel the world and spend time with my family. Hard work is important but enjoying the fruits of your hard work is just as important. I’m blessed to have my family and be able to do what I love, daily.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Working in the Real Estate world for over 15 years has always been a challenge. Enduring multiple layoffs, while working for different Title and mortgage companies, depending on the market, is never easy. But I always bounced back bigger and better.
You must have thick skin in this industry ,because I come in contact with so many different people. Although I am a sweet and kind person by nature, I posses a boss lady mind set when it comes to taking care of business. That’s how I get things done.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a real estate agent, and Notary Public for the state of Texas. After working in the Mortgage Industry for over 15 years, I wanted more, and decided to attend Real Estate School and obtain my license.
About 10 years ago, I started my own Notary Public business named “Team Konkrete Mobile Notary” services. I offer mobile notary services in my surrounding area of Forney and nearby areas within a 20 to 25 mile radius, for a small fee.
My current brokerage is LPT Realty, LLC. I have been with LPT Realty for 2 years and I love the training and knowledge that I have received thus far. Even though the Real Estate market can be unpredictable during the process of buying or selling a home, the most rewarding thing about being a realtor is sitting at the closing table and seeing the enjoyment in my client’s eyes as they are given the keys to their new home. My specialty is being able to convert renters into buyers. Achieving dreams of homeowner is a huge accomplishment and I love assisting my clients in making their dreams come true.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
God deserves all of the credit for where I am today. I was blessed to be raised by a dad who instilled lifelong values in me and pushed me and my siblings to be successful and financially stable.
I’m also thankful for having such a great real estate mentor who has taught me so much in such a short amount of time. No matter what time or day, he always responds to my messages. After coming from a previous brokerage where my mentor would never respond, this really means a lot.
My husband is my #1 Supporter, my biggest cheerleader. If it’s helping me with an open house, giving out my cards to potential clients, or just sharing my post on social media, he is always finding ways to support me. My girls always tell me how proud they are of me and I’m so blessed to be a role model they can look up to. Without their love and support, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do! They are my team behind the scenes.
