Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Mitchell.
Hi Lindsay, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I originally started my career in Title. I was an escrow officer for almost 9 years until I had my son in 2005. I decided to go back to work full-time in 2013 and immediately thought I would go back to a local title company in my hometown. After encouragement from other Realtors, friends, and family, I decided to go for it and get my real estate license. I have staged homes for other Realtors, helped friends and family with interior decorating and organizing. I really love ALL things real estate. The people, the relationships, the stories, and the homes. It all excites me! Over the years I have bought a few investment properties and got to experience what I’ve helped others do, personally.
I have lived in Rockwall for almost 40 years. I live, work, shop, dine, fish, golf, and serve here!
I am happiest when I’m serving others. I truly enjoy being apart of local nonprofits like Boys & Girls Club, CAC and The Chamber of Commerce. I also enjoy serving on the City’s Architectural Review Board.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I hit the ground running in 2014. I started at Ebby Halliday and learned from some of the best Realtors in Rockwall. The market really picked up in 2017 and I was extremely busy until 2021. Things slowed down for me a little in 2021 then 2022 was my slowest year I’ve had since I started. The pandemic brought many challenges but I feel like with each passing month things get easier and the new normal isn’t so bad. I am optimistic about 2023! I began Tom Ferry Coaching in q4 2022 and that has been a great reset for my business.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a REALTOR. I am the bridge to homeownership for many. I am known for being a hometown girl and being very involved and invested in my community. I have been given the name “Mrs. Rockwall” to which I laugh but gladly accept. My specialty is transforming a home before putting it on the market. Not(ok-most) all homes are listing-ready. I go in and declutter, rearrange furniture, stage, and whatever else is needed before I offer a home up to the market. I am a very up-front person and am the same with my clients. I don’t “bs” or sugarcoat things. I often hear “they told me you will shoot me straight and not bs me” when I get a referral from a past client or friend. I know my market well and listing a home can be challenging for some but it’s what I really enjoy and am able to let my skills shine.
I love working with sellers and marketing properties in my area and sharing what the home and community has to offer.
I am just as enthusiastic about working with buyers. I am always excited to share all the wonderful things about Rockwall when someone from outside the area is looking to buy here.
I am most proud of staying true to myself. I don’t want to be like every other Realtor.
I am also proud of recently becoming the MetroTex Association of Realtors Rockwall Area Representative and Chair of the monthly area meetings.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Riding my bike all over town and our neighborhood and coming in filthy from head to toe. I always wanted to be outside doing something. As the youngest of 4 kids with a huge age gap between me and them, I didn’t have anyone to play with at home. I found the most happiness amongst friends and teammates (soccer clubs). Oh, and my microphone and Whitney Houston album 😉
