Check Out Maria Viselli’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Viselli.

Hi Maria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began reading after I had my daughter as a form of escape! I struggled with PPA & PPD, so doing something for my mental health was becoming more of a priority for me. One day I picked up a thriller (Verity) & then fell down the rabbit hole of thrillers, romance, rom-coms & fantasy. I started a book Instagram to connect with others who read since other people close to me didn’t read. I figured I would post book reviews just for fun & here I am, 2 years later, books galore, an endless tbr, book friends from all across the globe & reading/reviewing ARC’s for authors. I am so incredibly grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had yet thus far!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’d say it’s been pretty smooth! Obviously social media is hit or miss at times, but as long as you make sure to take mental health breaks along the way, it does help! I do take it seriously, but then again, I want to have fun with it because it’s a hobby for me that I love! I don’t want to burn myself out.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m actually a stay at home mom to 2 littles, a 3 year old daughter and 10 month old son! I became a sahm after our whole department got laid off from my corporate job in the finance world! I’m proud of being able to show up for my kids each and every day, and be the best I can be!

How do you think about luck?
I feel like keeping a schedule posting on my socials has really helped a lot, because you truly don’t know what companies, publishers, people see your accounts! I feel like I’ve been lucky in general to have been reached out by publishers, coffee companies, bookish companies as well to share my love of books, reading and coffee.
