Today we’d like to introduce you to Martha Jackson
Hi Martha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The Bubble Lounge Podcast began as a conversation between my husband, Sean, and me about the unique and vibrant community we live in. As longtime residents of the Park Cities, we wanted to create a platform that connects neighbors, celebrates local businesses, and spotlights amazing people in our community.
What started casually during a vacation in Colorado has since grown into a podcast that reaches thousands of listeners each month. Over the past six years, we’ve interviewed local business owners, school leaders, sports figures, and nonprofit champions. Our goal is to share stories that often go untold and give a voice to those who make our community special.
As the podcast has expanded, so has our reach, allowing us to highlight even more impactful stories. It’s been a rewarding journey, and we’re excited about what’s next.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s definitely been a rewarding journey, but like any creative endeavor, it hasn’t always been smooth. One of our biggest challenges was finding our footing and defining our voice. In the beginning, it was about getting comfortable behind the microphone and figuring out the kind of stories we wanted to tell. We faced a learning curve with the technical side of podcasting—sound quality, editing, and all the details that go into producing a professional show. We started with one microphone at my husband’s office, and over time, we invested in better technology and refined our process to deliver a higher-quality experience to our listeners. Balancing the podcast with my personal life has been another challenge. As a mother, community volunteer, and someone deeply involved in local organizations, finding time to produce weekly episodes often felt overwhelming. There were days when I struggled to juggle all my responsibilities, and it sometimes felt like there simply weren’t enough hours to get everything done. Fortunately, I’ve been surrounded by a supportive community that believes in the podcast and its mission, which has motivated me to keep pushing forward even during the most hectic times. Building an audience also required time and patience. In the early days, marketing the podcast and reaching listeners who weren’t familiar with the format was tough. We had to educate our guests, sponsors, and audience about the power of podcasting and why it was an important platform for sharing local stories. It was challenging to convince some people of the value of podcasting, especially when many businesses and community members didn’t even know what a podcast was! Over time, as podcasts gained popularity, our audience grew, and it became clear that our focus on community and storytelling resonated deeply with listeners. One of the most significant turning points in managing the workload came recently when I worked with Jenny Dietsch of Getting It Done Organizing. Jenny and her team spent three days in my office, helping me purge old files, reorganize my space, and implement a new project management system. This overhaul was life-changing; it brought order to the chaos and allowed me to keep up with the demands of producing the podcast while better balancing my other responsibilities. Jenny’s organizational skills helped streamline my workflow, making it much easier to stay on top of everything. These challenges taught me the importance of perseverance, community support, and the value of investing in the right tools and people to keep the podcast running smoothly. It’s been a journey of learning and growth, and every obstacle has made the Bubble Lounge stronger and more impactful.
We’d love to learn more about your work. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of? What sets you apart from others?
I’m the co-host of The Bubble Lounge, a podcast that spotlights the unique culture and community of the Park Cities. We specialize in bringing local stories to life by featuring the voices of business owners, educators, community leaders, and residents who make a difference. What I’m most proud of is how the podcast has evolved into a trusted platform that connects people in a meaningful way. Through both the podcast and our Instagram, we’ve been able to introduce listeners to new businesses, events, and causes, all while building a real sense of community.
What sets The Bubble Lounge apart is our focus on hyper-local content and our deep connection to the community. We’re not just telling stories—we’re fostering relationships and creating opportunities for people to support each other. I also think the personal, conversational tone we bring makes listeners feel like they’re sitting down with friends. That combination of authenticity and community focus is what makes our show special..
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are many ways to get involved with The Bubble Lounge Podcast, and we’re always open to new collaborations. Businesses can work with us by sponsoring
episodes, which provides them with a unique platform to reach an engaged local audience. Sponsorships can include ad spots within the podcast, social media
mentions, and even custom content that aligns with their brand’s message. We pride ourselves on creating authentic partnerships that go beyond traditional advertising—our goal is to truly integrate our sponsors into the stories we tell.
For our listeners, the best way to support us is by tuning in regularly, subscribing to the show, and sharing your favorite episodes with friends and family. We’re also active on social media, where we share behind-the-scenes content, guest highlights, and updates on what’s coming next.
