Hi Michael, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was a hobby baker who found his passion for cake when I started creating cakes for my teenage daughters years ago. The more I bake and design cakes the more I love doing it!
With every cake I began to realize my hobby was soon turning into a craft and a mission to help make memories for people’s lives through my cakes. I want you to feel the same joy on your taste buds I feel while creating a cake for everyone. I love doing all styles, whether it be celebrations, weddings, vintage style, or carved cakes.
Big Daddy Cakes is where you can find the best fresh ingredients and secret ones, such as creativity, love, and passion meet with a little bit of attitude.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
While working in the underground utilities industry finding myself baking and decorating cakes and enjoying it in my 40s was what some might find a little crazy but with the support of my wife and daughters developing the Bid Daddy Cakes brand has been a wonderful adventure.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Creating edible art to bring joy and memories is what is most important to me. When I am asked by customers to be apart of life’s special occasions such as engagements, babies, birthdays and anniversaries of course weddings and hearing back how special it made them feel to have a dream cake displayed and there were no leftovers makes my day!
I love when I am asked to make it special or someone sends me a picture and asks “can you do that” those challenges inspire me. Big Daddy Cakes is who they call when they are looking for classic cake flavors and some more traditional southern flavors you remember from days with your family.

I was a foreman in the underground utilities industry in North Texas for over 3 decades and have been happily married for over 33 years.
