Today we’d like to introduce you to Myrese Jennings.
Myrese, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always had a love for photography. That was really the foundation for me. I’ve also always had a strong work ethic. Over the years, I’ve worked in so many different fields and developed a variety of skills that helped me obtain jobs and opportunities I never thought I would have. No matter what I was doing, though, I always felt like I wanted to do more and eventually build something for myself.
At the same time, I continued growing with photography. It wasn’t that I wasn’t getting anywhere with it — I just didn’t know what direction I wanted to take it or how to turn something I genuinely loved creatively into a career or business. I knew photography was going to remain a part of me, but I was still trying to figure out where it fit into the bigger picture.
That search for something more eventually introduced me to real estate. I started learning about the industry, the different ways people built businesses and created opportunities within it, and that really caught my attention. Around that same time, I was introduced to home inspections and developed a genuine passion for learning how homes are built, understanding their different systems, identifying problems, and seeing properties beyond just their appearance.
Moving to Dallas became a major turning point for me. Being in a bigger city gave me more opportunities to explore those interests and see how they could come together. It was here that I really began to see how my passion for photography could connect with my growing interest in real estate and become something much bigger.
That journey is what ultimately led to the vision for Revali. My goal is to build Revali into a brand that brings different areas of real estate together, starting with home inspections and real estate photography while continuing to grow into something much bigger over time. For me, it’s about taking the skills and passions I’ve developed and creating something of my own that can continue to evolve with me.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges for me has been finding the balance between being there for the people in my life and making time for the things I want to accomplish for myself. I’ve always been someone people can rely on, and with that has come a lot of responsibility. There have been times when my own goals had to take a back seat because something or someone else needed my attention.
For a long time, I didn’t really question it. I would work, handle whatever needed to be handled, and keep moving. But over time, I realized how difficult it was to build something consistently when my time and energy were constantly being divided. Some of my goals have taken longer because of that, and accepting that has been a challenge of its own.
Another challenge has been believing in a vision that, at times, only I could really see. As my goals became bigger and my mindset started changing, I sometimes felt like it became harder to relate to the people around me or explain why I was so focused on creating something different for myself. There have definitely been moments of loneliness in that. I’ve had to learn how to keep believing in what I’m building even when there isn’t always someone beside me who completely understands the vision.
I’m learning now that making time for myself and what I want to build doesn’t mean I care any less about the people who depend on me. It means finding a healthier balance between both. I’ve also learned that not everyone has to see the vision in the beginning for it to be worth pursuing. Sometimes you have to believe in something long before other people have a reason to.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Revali is something I’m building with a much bigger picture in mind, beginning with home inspections and real estate photography. I don’t want it to be known for just one service. My goal is to create a company that can make different parts of real estate simpler, faster, and more connected for the people we work with.
For example, when a realtor is preparing to list a home, I want Revali to be one of the first calls they make. Whether they need photography, video, an inspection, or another resource to get that property ready, the goal is to have those services and connections available without them having to search for multiple companies.
I see that same vision extending to investors as Revali grows. If someone is looking for their next investment, I want us to eventually be able to connect them with opportunities, properties, professionals, and resources that can help them move from an idea to actually making the investment.
Ultimately, I want Revali to grow into more than a service company. I want to build an ecosystem within real estate where our clients know that if they need something, there’s a good chance we can either provide it or connect them with someone we trust who can.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
When it comes to networking and finding mentors, one of the biggest things I’ve learned is that sometimes you just have to be bold enough to ask. I’ve reached out to people I didn’t know personally simply because I respected what they were doing and wanted to learn from their experience.
It’s definitely been hit or miss. Some people are busy, some may never respond, and not every conversation turns into a relationship. But I’ve also met people who were willing to give me advice, answer questions, share their experiences, and even check in on me as I continue my journey. Those relationships have meant a lot to me.
My advice would be to not be afraid of hearing no or getting no response at all. Put yourself out there, be genuine about wanting to learn, and don’t approach every relationship thinking about what someone can do for you. Sometimes one conversation with the right person can give you knowledge or perspective that stays with you for years.
