Check Out Olabosipo Ibirogba’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olabosipo Ibirogba

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My interest in skincare started back in 2017, when I suddenly developed severe acne on my face and every effort to clear it up failed. I bought a haul of several over the counter products that did little to nothing at all for me. I almost wanted to try Accutane as prescribed by a Dermatologist. Eventually I used some prescriptions from a Dermatologist. However, those prescriptions dried my facial skin a lot and left me wit acne scars. That was when my search for a natural skincare remedy started.
In 2021, I stumbled on an online Skincare Academy, where I enrolled for a Diploma in Natural Skincare Formulation. By year 2022, I started formulating serums, face lotion, and body butter for personal use and for family and friends. By 2023, I formulated my first acne toner that consists of lactic acid, glycolic acid (or Mandelic acid for sensitive skin) and acne serum, which cleared out all my active acne and blackheads. By 2023, I started formulating and selling to the public. My business name “Labeesglow” was registered by the summer of 2023 and I have been formulating and supplying highly effective natural skincare products officially.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it has not been a smooth road to be honest. The major struggles are shipping some raw materials from outside US as there could be spillage before it gets to me. More so, penetrating the market being a small start up business is very challenging. I get good reviews from the clients that have used my products but, I need to reach a wider audience. But, I am hopeful with time, the business will expand and get to reach more potential customers.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an Atmospheric Scientist. I have a Ph.D degree in Atmospheric Science and I predict severe weather using machine learning with the application of data analytical tools like MATLAB, Python, and R. I also have a masters and bachelors degree in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology and I love weather forecasting, air quality studies which is my motivation of pursuing this field of research.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I would give credit to my husband “Akorede Ibirogba” and my church family at Household of Faith, Arlington, Texas. They have supported my brand thus far. My husband sometimes assist me if I need help during the formulation process and my church family patronizes my skincare products especially when I was just starting out my business.
