Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Teague
Hi Rachel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got started singing when I was very little and remember one of my first performances being 1st grade talent show. I started teaching and performing right out of high school and going to college for audio engineering. I got fully submerged into the corporate band world and traveled the country performing with lots of dance bands. As of the last two years my husband and I have committed to my original music and project entirely and looking forward to releasing my pop funk album in the next two months. “Out of my element”. I now only perform solo, or with my own band performing my own arrangements and soon to set a tour for all my
Own original music as well
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Music is never easy especially since you take on every single role yourself as manager,
Booking, marketing , producing etc. The cover band world is easy to get sucked into as well and although it helped me evolve as a performer and leader in a lot of ways it also showed me a lot of the ugly that exsist in this industry. I find being my own boss and representing my own sound brings me the most success and peace of mind at the end of the day
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a singer song writer and full time
Artist. I am most proud of my
Ability to book myself full time as an artist and have the privledge of playing all over Dallas every week. On top of singing and writing I help book and promote other artist in the scene and work as an account manager for the PR agency creative currency which is a great way for me
To give back to other artist and lead them in a helpful direction. I also get to your manage and be on the road with my amazingly talented husband Jordan Carr who plays trumpet and feel truly blessed to have a full time creative life with my all time favorite human.
How do you define success?
Over coming anything you didn’t think you could do or seemed difficult to achieve
